My funds are gone. Kucoin has basically admitted they confiscated my funds. They try to refer to terms and conditions but terms and conditions only allow them to confiscate wallets that have been abandoned 3 years.
The last email reply I sent to support I requested the news and announcements on ending withdrawals. Have not heard back for 2 days now.

Oh, in that case, yeah that's a bummer and you're 99% out of luck. You would think an exchange that holds $50+ million worth of ETH and tokens in a single wallet would be more willing to help out an old customer, but it goes against prevailing industry standards of keeping all money whenever possible under the T&C.

Only problem is I deposited a bunch of different tokens in October 2019. It’s not been 3 years or even close to it.
After I found my GVT missing I contacted them and they started giving me the runaround. I sold my positions on the rest of my coins and transferred my remaining balances to another exchange.
They ignored they’re own terms and conditions. They never made an announcement or contacted me on ending with drawls of GVT. I believe somebody Kucoin  got greedy. They saw several customers that had hundreds and hundreds of tokens and decided that they would take it advantage of an opportunity.
Sometimes it’s necessary to get lawyers involved. Like I said a class action lawsuit for several million dollars might teach them a lesson.

As I mentioned earlier, they have announced of delisting the coin. But they said they were supposed to support deposit/withdrawal at that moment and regarding this, there will be another notice, I can't find anymore update on D/W announcement.
Announcement here- https://www.kucoin.com/news/en-delist-list-may
More interesting, I still have 0.10 ONION which has delisted before GVT. I still can see 0.10 ONION in my Kucoin wallet and the withdrawal button is active although I can't try or checkout whether it works or not because I don't have the minimum required amount to withdraw.
What I'm trying to say is, the fund should be visible. OP, have you ever checked out the withdrawal history? Just saying.

Hi all, I’m talking to a lawyer about suing Kucoin. They delisted a token I was holding on the exchange and emptied my wallet of these tokens without ever contacting me. I’ve argued with them now for months to no avail. I’m checking in to doing a class action lawsuit. If anyone else has had this issue let me know.
Make sure that they didn't inform you well of the said event. Cause this is a major accusation if ever, since Kucoin is a big market a news like this could eventually turn or pull them down in an instant. Based on experience an exchange usually informed users about deletion, but sadly information like this could be not noticed easily by customers and tendency to leave it like that. Now, if there is a stipulation that failure to remove prior to listing and tokens will be confiscated, how will the exchange handle this? Like ask for the client to wait we are now in process? Something like that? I supposed not Kucoin.

They had an announcement for the D listing. In the announcement it stated withdrawals would continue to be open and announced at a later date. They never had any more announcements. Besides the fact of making an announcement they should contact the actual token holders. Customer should not be forced into spam emails in order to receive an announcement pertaining to a token that they hold. It should not be that difficult for a company making millions of dollars off of customers to actually contact the customer and question when it pertains to them specifically. I logged into KuCoin today. I had to go through multiple layers of security in order to log onto my account. But for KuCoin to take funds from my wallet there was no security for coin did it without any contacting of me or any layers of security similar to what I had to go through just to log onto the website.
In point of fact if I wanted to remove tokens from my wallet personally I still had to go through multiple layers of security yet Kucoin had to do nothing except for steal my funds.

Would you mind sharing your last deposit transaction? It might be possible to see if KuCoin still holds any of this token, or when they got rid of it, anyway.

I've used KuCoin pretty successfully over the last 3-4 years, never had any issues with them.

I'm surprised they're not more willing to work with you.

It shows on etherscan with the txhash 0xd16772113691bd3b14efbd8e93818fd07fcba42285151706ce55e4b94f067256

Alrighty. I'm a bit busy at the moment but sometimes Ethescan identifies wallet as "KuCoin 1" or something like that... it would be interesting to see if they hold any of the token you mentioned. I'll give it a look in a few hours, but you should take a look for yourself in the meanwhile, see if you can make sense of it.

It shows withdrawal from binance to Kucoin. It looks like the wallet is empty now.
Fun fact, Kucoin deleted the transaction id in my deposit history.
It’s a scam. I’m not a big tech guy. I started trading in 2017. I was planning on hodling gvt until it hit $50.
There is absolutely zero reason to remove funds from customer accounts. Any erc20 token uses the ETH network. To say they don’t support it is like saying they don’t support etherium.
There has to be thousands like me out there that got frustrated with trading and decided to break away from watching for a while.
Kucoin should acknowledge they’re mistake and give me back my funds. They keep stating terms and conditions but terms and conditions states 3YEARS of no transactions. It had been 6 months since delisting and NO announcements on withdrawals.

What's interesting is they still hold a few GVT tokens in this wallet, which is labeled as "KuCoin 3" by Etherscan:

https://etherscan.io/token/0x103c3a209da59d3e7c4a89307e66521e081cfdf0?a=0xa1d8d972560c2f8144af871db508f0b0b10a3fbf

They only have 235 tokens there, but its better than nothing. Can you ask them to provide some sort of proof that they warned the token would be delisted?

If they stopped responding to you altogether, I can ask them in their thread on your behalf.

That wallet holds ~$57 million in ETH and tokens and performs transactions every few seconds; no reason they can't refund your coins to you other than they are lazy.

I’ve been arguing with them for 2-3 months. I even told then just give me the equivalent usd value in kcs. Figured I could sell and then go to another exchange and buy back my gvt.
I’m not having any luck. I had 300gvt which is worth over 2k now and my brother had 700 which is worth 5k now.

Honestly, you won't win the case if you sue them because 99% of all cryptocurrency exchange site always make an announcement either through their announcement blog or social media account before they delist coin/token on their platform, and it your own as the user of the exchange to be updated about every ongoing announcement cause email may not be delivered sometime since they are going to send it bulk.

You have to show proof first follow the right format, this is the first time that someone accusing them of stealing their coin, you have a poiunt and what you are saying may be true, I've checked the last notification I received on Kucoin that is in my email and it's already 5 months since, I don't know if others they land on the spam folder and gets deleted because spam emails get deleted, please mentioned the number of altcoins and their value
OP has mentioned the token he meant, it is a GVT coin and he has more than $6,000 on it.

People are misleading on here, it's not because OP complained kucoin has delisted GVT, but he complained because he never get any notification about delisting GVT, so he didn't know GVT will delisted on kucoin.

I can't really say which one is true, because i never HODL token which will be delisted on Kucoin.

There's some periods before an exchange disappearing some tokens. There must be an email notification sent to users emails, they also give a notification on app regarding delisting token. After that, they will close the trade and only let users to withdraw the token. It process takes about 2 weeks. And deleting token from exchange takes month.
I am not trying to depend kucoin, but if you missed these notifications, it means you're not online for months. You should have listened people to not to save your tokens on exchange. As I know they good in support. Super fast response and always have solutions.
If you have documentation and history of buying or deposit, you should get it back. Good luck

You’re seeking for a legal battle then you must have a good documentation because an exchange will always sent a notification to all the users before they delist a specific coins/tokens, usually months before doing that.

Kucoin didn’t stole your funds, you just missed the announcement which I also believe you did. Also, the team of the project you’re holding for sure did their announcement online, again you maybe missed this one too.

Yes I have documentation. Even to this day they have no history of announcements for ending the withdrawal of gvt.

That’s why I say they never announced ending withdrawals. I’m not missing anything. You can no longer find gvt on their website. Not in the trading wallet not main account not anything.
I wonder why they delist it has a good volume, is this GVT coin that we are discussing
GENESIS VISION you should discuss it with the support on why you did not get an announcement on the delisting in your email, you should get one, members usually get a notification before they delist coins, this is a big lesson for us, never entrusted your coins in any exchange, it's still better to hold your coin in your wallet, and deposit on exchange when you are ready to trade it.

more then likely, this will not be another lost battle. read again their terms and conditions before hiring a lawyer. because your resources may just be wasted for nothing. this is the reason why it is always to keep your coins or tokens in your own wallet that you have full control especially if you are not actively trading. because there are updates or news that you will be missing out and it is already too late before you realised it.
btw, have you reached out to their support, in telegram, they usually reply fast and see if you can still recover your funds.

With the high cost to transfer coins on the etherium network it’s not feasible to keep in private wallet for most people. I basically threw away some tokens I have in MEW because the cost to transfer was half the value of the coins!
I had PRL which changed to OPQ which dropped in value significantly. Then OPQ changed to OPCT BUT transferring 750 tokens ($7.50) cost $5.00!

I have been arguing with Kucoin support for 2-3 months! My gvt now worth 7000.00!

Kucoin NEVER announced ending withdrawals.only the delisting. In the announcements for delisting they stated withdrawals would continue and announcements would come later regarding withdrawals.
Hey, I think you are missing something. I don't know if you can see the fund anywhere or not, have you checked your trading account? To inform you, Kucoin has two types balance. Main account and trading account. Please check both balance.
I just found that they haven’t stopped withdrawal yet according to this post, I can't find any more update. https://m.kucoin.com/news/en-delist-list-may

They have the right to delist any token that didn't comply to there standards. You should always check your asset especially when it was stored on exchange because you don't have full control on your exchange wallet. I don't want to blame you on your misfortune but kucoin just do there protocol on delisting coin.

Store your coins next time on wallet that you have full control if really want to leave your token for a long period of time. Never leave your coin on exchange.

You are 100% correct they have the right to delist a token. The do not have a right to confiscate my tokens from my exchange wallet with no contact directly to me .

I might have ignored my holdings for several months. That is no excuse for an exchange to empty a wallet of tokens. Listed or delisted should not matter. If a token is erc20 then it is an etherium token and used the etherium blockchain. No exchange should be taking tokens from your personal exchange wallet. It is theft! It’s like a bank taking money out of your account for no reason!
You have to input codes and 2FA to make trades and withdrawals but Kucoin can remove funds with absolutely no contact to you? It’s theft!
They have notified you through email to withdraw your holding from the exchange. Why didn’t withdraw at that time? Due to various reasons like low volume, they can delist the coin and you have agreed to follow their rules when joined Kucoin.
Anyway, as all the time they used to say, "Not your keys, not your coins." Be aware.

There was no email notification to withdraw. You need to be an attorney to read and understand terms and conditions. Terms and conditions are an excuse for companies to rip you off.
There is no reason for Kucoin to remove funds from my wallet. They should be able to sit there for 100yrs.
Kucoin took my tokens and then sold them on another exchange.
Binance has never done that. They leave your wallet alone even after delisting. Funds should always be safe especially from the exchange they sit on.

All exchanges inform their customers in various ways before delisting any coin. Even after delisting, they give their customers some extra time to withdraw their held funds. If you keep your fund hold on an exchange, it is your responsibility to keep abreast of the latest updates on that exchange. Because exchanges delist different coins if those coins do not meet all their conditions. You are now in this situation for your own fault, I don't know how right it would be to blame kucoin here.

You have to input codes and 2FA to make trades and withdrawals but Kucoin can remove funds with absolutely no contact to you? It’s theft!

Have you been inactive in crypto for years? But as per exchanges is concerned it should send you a notice that the coin your holding is about to be delisted. Maybe you can resolve that by showing them proofs, thats why its not practical to leave crypto in exchanges alone because we will never know what could possibly happen to them.

For years in Kucoin, I haven't experienced funds of mine being stolen by them. And as far as I know, Kucoin do not directly send notice to your email regarding token delisting. But it is being anounce by them, and you will be given enough time to withdraw it.

Yes I’m sure they never contacted me. I check my junk mail every couple of weeks. Either way it doesn’t matter. Gvt is an erc20 token. They say they don’t support it but it’s an etherium address. The should never take funds from customer wallets. It was ove 6000 usd worth right now. How many other people have they stolen from?
Binance let’s you hold unsupported coins in your wallet on their exchange. Binance never confiscates your funds.

Are you sure didn't received an email? From my experience, the exchange will notify the customer by email if want to delisted coin or token. Maybe you just missed them or was landed in the spam folder which will be expired in 30 days.

Kucoin also had an account here; KuCoin Exchange or asking in the thread [ANN] [EXCHANGE] KuCoin Exchange.
