I would be interested to find out how many lunatics actually submitted all that private info.

Enough, there was even one with a selfie with his own ID in the KYC topic...
And  even worse here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/kyc-should-include-private-keys-post-your-private-keys-here-5126721

I know the forum is full of nutters but as this is all about finances and lets be honest 99% of coin dev's are keyboard scammers then surly people wont just give this information up.

Hell HSBC dosn't even ask for that  Grin

But would love to know how many people take this seriously

And good on Theymos for doing it !

That is the source code when you visit KYC verification page, but there is not anything stopping a different source code when someone else visits that page.

The chances of this happening are very low (close to zero).
There is nothing stopping anybody else from seeing what shows in their kyc page to verify if it’s sending anything or if the code is different in their case.

Yeah others are right! This is only an April Fool's joke but I admit that it was quite impressive because I almost click on the bait lol.

And besides, you can predict that it wasn't true at the first place because you can still access the forum (like the usual) despite of having the announcement Grin.

I am already submitted my information is it dangerous for me............... if honer cant receive information where to go the information
Relax dude, the infos you input is in safe place. See the codes above posted by OP? It states that your data is just sent here inside the forum (correct me if I'm wrong Tongue), so nothing to worry about.

For the super paranoid, you should verify this information yourself. In theory, this whole April Fools prank could be a ruse to try to get xx user's private information if there was some good reason (such as a national security subpoena) to try to get their information. I think the chances of that are low.

Alternatively, you can leave all the fields blank, and the KYC request at the top of every page will go away.
Well, you can always take a look at the source code of the page yourself. You'll see that the form doesn't send anything to any server.

Code:

        -snip-

That is the source code when you visit KYC verification page, but there is not anything stopping a different source code when someone else visits that page.

The chances of this happening are very low (close to zero).

What is this, some sick Joke?  I don't want my parents to know I self-identify my gender as an "Attack helicopter."

It seems as if this was a joke. As of now, not giving this information does not prevent you from posting or reporting a post.

Geez, I sent a stool sample.  Since it's only a joke I wonder if I can get it back?  I did fast freeze it.  Since it's still March 31 here I thought it was serious.  I want my poop back!
