It's a scam. They just stole the idea from the XKCD comic (http://what-if.xkcd.com/119/) and stole the video from a link in said what-if comic (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRbHDtPbHe0)
Well this may be a scam, but I heard that hoverboard is real. So I guess it may be technically possible as well.

That one has several limitations the one in the movies didn't, but it sort of works - but how is it related to the laser shooting umbrella, considering it works in a very different way?Anyway, it seems the indiegogo page for this has been removed.
