Highlighting edited stuff is almost impossible to do.

How do you display if someone has removed info ? What if they have done multiple edits ? What if they edit once adding one paragraph, and edit a second time adding just one word ?

An edit history sounds nice in theory, but would get clunky too.

So honestly, I doubt this will work.

But Wikipedia (MediaWiki, in fact) already does this. I don't think it's that complicated once someone has already done it.

Like this idea but the amount of editing everyone does it could be an annoyance maybe have this as a option so you can turn on & off.

There are numerous occasions where posts are edited for valid reasons, such as announcements, pricing, links etc. on posts that are revisited very frequently. When they're edited there is no easy way of knowing what the actual edits are apart from knowing when the post was last edited. If posts have changed since the last time you visited a thread or read the post, it would be great if it the edited components were highlighted in some way (different font style, highlight, background colour change etc).

+1. OR atleast it would be great if something like 'Edited on Date, time' is shown if the user edit his/her post. So we can know he/she has edited his/her post. Roll Eyes

P.S. Sorry, what I wanted is actually implemented though 'not fully':

Everyone can see it, its not very well displayed but look at the timestamps of messages, if they have a dotted line under them it means the post was edited, hovering over the timestamp will also reveal when it was last edited and by who.

Yes this would be a great feature, and it be nice to include a way to bump a thread by updating the reserved announcement slot, without the "BUMP" feature....

Keeping withing a rule of no more than one announcement update every say 24 hours

edit and a format of

#date update message

would create an autobump without needing to bump and have the update highlighted.
