It would be good if there create such an option to see edit post. which has been edited. But right now it is not visible to the users. It might be visible only mods for now.

By naming himself "MERITED" is not enough to get merit.First,You should learn English ,then post correctly.

I do not understand what you mean? Want to preview posts when posting? I'm afraid that there is no such mode for you. Lol
Sometimes, you should try to read other member's reply, not just the title and the OP's thread. mdayonliner already explained what OP means and it is just above your reply. Let me quote it for you Smiley

What I understand is, you mean an edit history visible to public. At the moment I guess only mod/admin can see edit history, not sure though. Publicly it's not available however I think it should be publicly available too.

I experienced the need for this when I had a hard time (I am still suffering) going on with a member. He kept changing his previous posts (without keeping reference most of the time) where he could easily correct his contents on the new comments. Editing older posts (which already responded based on your previous content) without reference actually can change the whole point of view of a conversation. It's mislead the new readers and they actually find it hard to get connection of the conversations.

You can't check if the post is edited or not via a Mobile browser.
Not true. You can still see if it's edited or not. The dotted line is still visible in mobile browser (Google Chrome) but not sure in other browsers. But i guess it's all the same.
Example.

As far as I know, Facebook used to show this message "last time edited 00.00" (I don`t use FB) or something like that, showing the readers that the post was edited and the time of the last edition.
I think the user is asking is such kind of tools can be available in here
Last time i checked, edited posts can be viewed. You can view the time it was edited and the previous state before the edit.

OP, if you want to keep track of your edits, you can keep track of it in Drafts, but it only lasts for 7 days.
Hmmm drafts, it could be the answer, but maybe if drafts of everyone could be publicly viewed?

Dont make fun on other's post they are trying their best to write proper english or at least understandable especially if they're not a navite english speakers, instead of making fun on other try to understand what they want to deliver and help them, Actually after reading all replies your reply is the most non-sense I have read.

For the OP, Their edit history is not visible for us but I think admins can see it, though for me it is not to important to read the edit history post.

But if you are having personal problem's in a thread or an argument that the user violate's the rule and you want to keep an evidence use printscreen or screenshot's and save it if you want to report a user for an abuse.

How about for mobile users like me? Any suggestions?

I assume that SMF-engine'2009 is too old to support the mobile users (while mobiles usually don't support hovering).:P But you still can find out if post was edited in general: the date of every edited post is underlined with dotted line, and I expect this to be the same on every device (leastways my tablet shows it).

You can't argue with that unless you quoted their first statement, but what if you didn't?

In fact I never got in a situation like that - perhaps because I quote everything I answer ahead of time. Also if someone rewrote their post, then maybe their previous thoughts did not matter or they just changed their mind - then why should I argue?..

I don't think so. I know Mods can't see edit history, and about Admins seeing edit history, I don't know if they can/do see for every single user, but theymos said he tracks the edit history for least trusted users like say, TradeFortress.

As far as I know, Facebook used to show this message "last time edited 00.00" (I don`t use FB) or something like that, showing the readers that the post was edited and the time of the last edition.
Now it just shows as the comment has been edited. I don't think you can edit messages(Personal Messages?DMs).

Is this on btct forum? Let me try this when i got a hold to a computer. How about for mobile users like me? Any suggestions?
You can see if someone edited their posts while on PC, there's a dotted line below the date area of the post. You can't check if the post is edited or not via a Mobile browser.

What do you mean preview? You mean log the entire post as it was initially made?

Oh. So mods/admins can see every little detail changed in a discussion if they want to? If it's currently available to mods/admins then i suggest that it should be publicly viewed.

Right right? It's frustrating when tables can be turned because of this.

Yep exactly. And as it is being edited, backlogs will accumulate. Therefore every changes made would be recorded along with the time it was changed. Would this be possible?

It seems that some big sites like deviantart.com (the global community for artists) provide such a functionality, but I'm not sure why. If someone edits the post after 10 minutes from publication forum shows the note with his/her nickname and the time (just hover the date with the mouse cursor). You need the body only if you want to know what exactly was changed, but in most cases there're only unnecessary corrections there and I don't think that it's expedient to store them on servers (it's a huge amount of useless data actually - I suppose that this space can be used for better purposes).

Are there any way to preview the last edit of a post (much like on facebook) which shows the previous body as well as the time frame it was posted. If there's not, wouldn't it be a good addition to the forum? Thanks!
