With an existing coin you are running the risk of inheriting bad reputation. It is the same as buying and existing company. I would suggest start clean and fresh.

You could create an ERC 20 compliant token which runs on top of the Ethereum network to meet your needs.

First of all if you are taking over any dormant coin then you must first of all buy "control packet" of coins somehow. You must contact with big holders, early miners and so on. If your business is serious, then every possible attempt will be made by existing users to make profit on your coin somehow. It can lead to unpredictable moves on the market and you will need to wait until market calm down (nobody can predict how much time it will take). So the time you will need to wait until the price of the existing coin you bought (taken/exchanged or obtained anyway) can be longer than the time you need to list your new fresh coin on exchange.
Also you cannot buy any useful amount of coin from big exchange. Respect mentioned industry but there is no way people will just sell you their expected income, cause every owner of the coin listed on the big exchange expect it's growth so you will pay times more than market cap.
Do it easy - choose the algo, distribute a coin, make it to small exchange then grow. This procedure is so common and well worked out. Hope it can help.

Hi everyone,

Me and my team plan to either takeover some (almost) dead coin or to launch existing one. Intent is to dedicate this coin for buying and selling firearms in USA. We have in our team Company which is a big player in firearms industry with big community and a lot of small partners beside them. It is important for us that coin is already on the exchange or if we are starting a new coin, the fastest way to list a coin to some of the bigger exchanges. Do you have any suggestins which could help us to make the right decision?

Thanks.
