I see this as a potential serious problem for Bitcoin in general. What's stops a rouge entity from tagging myriad of addresses with bogus messages unrelated to said addresses?

For instance:

Some person has the red-ass toward some up-and-coming rock star. They could easily tag any random semi-fat address as theirs, along with any subsequent addresses stemming from it with lies furthering their vitriol. Same true for politicians. FUCK ME! Especially politicians! This can get ugly, for I can now easily envision [US] laws being passed to put an end to the charade.

So I'm sure most of have heard of these guys, they've been spamming the blcokchain advertising their website for the past while, but now it appears they are sending obscene messages too.

I received this transaction a few days ago:
http://blockchain.info/tx/ced51dc122eeca983c9bb76b53d74c8e45e12f66f1c07c24022cc29b78603ef7

As you can see the public note reads "Child Porn is awesome!"

I was curious to see if I could find out who sent it, so I did some sleuthing and it led me to this interesting address:

http://blockchain.info/address/19eHzRD6UYv8igtP9KsjGPn9piyEAG7QX9

As you can see, this address received 0.0495BTC from the LaxoTrade spamming address. It is much larger than the other spam transactions and unlike the others it only has 2 output addresses. This transaction was obviously not a spam one due to the large amount sent and I believe it is likely a payment to themselves.

That address sends some BTC to:
http://blockchain.info/address/1C3brKxGwSZ1vYLt1NZZr6mxjmcm3HXGqW

Then it goes to:
http://blockchain.info/address/14HShGcunv3xrZ1ku66DekhokY4b9vWetz

And finally to the address sending the obscene spam transactions:
http://blockchain.info/address/1CPxxxZkKeBYDgvX7pmiUZnMRxqELFV7Yb

So this address sending out obscene messages just so happens to be 4 hops from LaxoTrade (and 3 hops from an address likely controlled by them).

Given their reputation as a blockchain spammer I'm going out on a limb here and am going to accuse them of sending out these obscene messages. Lets hope they don't start doing this on a large scale like their last spamming attempt.

This a cheap disgusting wsy for advertising, damn no one can get rid of this shit???
