Well, you are right in what you just said but let's bear it in mind that this our generation is so corrupt to the extent that they no longer take advice from anyone and they do what pleases them not minding what other people will say to them or what people will see them as. Our youth today don't want stress that is why dem involve themselves in money ritual like yahoo plus up, which can fetch the fast money, because they want to live a luxury or expensive lifestyle which a middle class will hustle for it before living that can lifestyle but children of now days, children that will still be in school wants to become rich, instead of acquiring a skill, dey will say dey don't have dat time, dat this time is the time of making money and the parents can't caution dem instead they will support them, all this leads to laziness and pride like lack of home training etc.

Laziness and pride and two dangerous combination but unfortunately, there are people that have both. There is the trend in Nigeria called "soft life" that is rendering youths very lazy yet desiring the sweet things of life. Most of them are not ready to do any challenging job, be it physically or mentally challenging... yet they want the result like now. Girls are not exempted from this and theirs is even worse. Many girls are not ready to fo through any stress and while in university, reading is even considered stress. Their own just to much abeg.

One thing that is certain is that, when laxity combines with pride, it will surely lead to under performance and most times to poverty.

I have read before that the first sign of a person that is ready to go out and hustle for himself is by relaying the bed he had slept on till that morning, that will show the persons seriousness and readiness to face any job at hand. Those that still select work are still well to do and not need the jobs. In this period that work is hard, no one chooses a job that he/she will do.

Laziness and pride reduces man to his minimum. Laziness on the part of people who already has life planned out for them and they really don't need to stress even more to survive through the challenging world economy. The weirdest situation is laziness from the ones who should on a normal basis, strive to survive as they're in a situation where they have little or nothing to live with. A lot of youths are lazy and it's not healthy because they tend to get affected greatly in the long run.
Pride on the part of people that'll say they can't work for people, well no one wants to be ordered around and so the best solution for them is to take up a personal skill, learn every bit of it then push their self straight into the labour market to strive for clients and survival. You know Humans are built different and character differs. We can't say all the youths don't want to work, their are some which are actually doing something for themselves working really hard to make things work out in a legal means.

We should also consider the fact that their are those who are willing to work but the pay rate is too small, how will they manage to cope if they should spend the whole day hustling and after everything they are being paid in penny or after long days of being self employed and they now check how far the sales and see very poor profits, is it appealing to continue such business. We know how the countries economy is, salaries do not increase but every day price of commodities do increase which is difficult to cope with. Same reasons you see some youths which where into business stopped coming out to their shops and you see that in few months dey now have cars cos the shop can't pay dem well so dey decide to do it illegally, maybe by fraud but it will be advisable if they would get into cryptocurrencies and system technology schemes

I stand to be corrected but this is a very wrong and shallow analogy you've just painted about the average youth out there. As a matter of fact, if there Is any truth In what you are trying to say, It should be the reverse of your writeup. It is true that we have those that are born into reach and poor home as a major segmentation in the society but you you are being real in your analogy you should have known that most persons that are born into poor home are mostly hard working because they started hustling at a very young age. because ehh things dey hard the more dey go and if you check am well na people wey been already take the advanced leg to learn things like mechanic, Plumbing work, tiling, sewing (fashion), baking as at 2017, 2018 Down na them county no dey hard as it stands.
