You like programming?  You have lots of spare time?  You've always been interested in biology, genetics, evolution and whatnot, but you never actually took any course in these fields?

Then check-out http://rosalind.info.  It's free, it can be fun if you like puzzles, and who knows, you might actually contribute to the progress of science.



ThANKS great find. Will go through the algorithms in my spare time. I think this is a growing field and could be the next big thing thanks to DNA sequencing.

I prefer robots that cut people to pieces and spew out flame but that's just me.

The problem with that is rust and gore clogging up the mechanics. Body fluids and mechanics don't mix well.
