I will lock this thread. Before my last post, people were following what they should post, but after my post which I even defended the reason I created the topic, some people started to post without reading the OP. If they read the OP, they will not post what they posted just like a random post. I said people that had mentor when they started to trade but I see people that posted off-topic that makes it looks like what lovesmayfamilis said. I made a mistake for not making this a self moderated thread.

How about you that started trading with a mentor. Did you not lose in the beginning? I just want to use this to know how important a mentor can be in trading. I still prefer to recommend people to learn trading on their own but not to joke with risk management which they can easily know.
Having a mentor in trading is not a bad idea though,  if one is lucky to have a mentor in trading then it is a good one for the person,  but if one is not opportune to have someone that can be called mentor then their is nothing that can be done, one just have to try his/her best to learn alone.

The reason why people should not bother or must have a mentor in trading especially as beginner is because any one can just disguise to be a good trader and a beginner who is just coming can put all hope thinking that they have found a mentor who can make trading  easy to learn not knowing the person does not even have a better knowledge.  Sometimes when a beginners have someone who is like a mentor, they feel so relax but when they are learning on their without any mentor they have no choice to learn better and to get the necessary skills that are needed.

Having a mentor is not bad but the main thing is if the mentor really has the knowledge of a real mentor and not a mentor who claim to know but know nothing but just want to be recognised as a mentor and to make money from people under their care.

Many underestimate the value of learning how to trade from a mentor, having a mentor that can guide you on your journey as a beginner is one of the fastest way to learn. The mistake most people make is trying to discover things for themselves, there's nothing wrong in that but you are definitely going to incur a lot of losses because you didn't attach yourself to someone who has the experience already. You can't learn about the financial market by yourself, you need someone that has a lot of experience to help you out so you can develop your own strategies.

The role of a mentor in trading is very important, because what we can learn from a mentor, we cannot learn in any other way. Because learning with the help of an experienced mentor, especially in risk management and mental preparedness, can be very helpful. Which we can never seriously learn by ourselves. Because when we go to do something alone our mind goes to other side, but at that time if we learn trading in front of a mentor then we can learn trading with full attention.

OP, have you seen this thread? Is there a difference between yours and the one that is being actively discussed?

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/importance-of-a-mentor-teacher-or-guide-to-a-beginner-trader-5517993

Do we need dozens of topics with the same meaning on the forum?
It was because of the thread that I created this thread. If you read what people are posting on the other thread, it does not answer my question. Many of them supported the OP that trading mentorship is good. But this thread is different because I want people that had mentor in the past to post about their experience and how it helped them. Just like I posted, I did not have a mentor but I am better in trading now. Also I do not recommend mentor on any of my posts before, but I am convinced to ask this question just to know the experience of people that had a mentor. Were they scammed? Were they not taught well? After the end of the mentorship, were they truly making money. I just needed the answers from those that experienced it and not just a random post. Try and read the thread and my thread and see what people are posted, they are different. My thread is more about their experience during mentorship and that is what they are posting about on this thread, it is not like that on the other thread.

This posts is a question to those that believe in mentorship to achieve a greater success in trading. When I began to trade, I did not believe in mentorship and I learn everything myself because I am a fast learner in anything I mean to learn.

I lost some money when I started to trade which I think it is normal as I am having more experiences. The losses later reduced and I noticed that I do not lose but gain than before. The profit is not much because I prefer to use not too much amount of money to trade but find more means to make profit instead that losing.

How about you that started trading with a mentor. Did you not lose in the beginning? I just want to use this to know how important a mentor can be in trading. I still prefer to recommend people to learn trading on their own but not to joke with risk management which they can easily know.

when I first learned trading, it was from my friend. and he guided me from the beginning before I was ready to start my first trade.
my first trading experience did get a small profit. of course, I used small money for my first trade. but it was still under my friend's direction.
after I tried to trade myself, I received a loss. but it was also not big. I realized something was wrong. and the next few trades were still losses.
I had a lot of communication with my friend. I got some advice and I tried to trade again. I did not return all my initial capital from trading, but the progress was good when I got some profits. my friend is not a really expert trader, but he has enough experience to share with me. and I learned from that.

Started the first trade on spot, was in profit and then held back a bit thinking the token would go up... but instead it went down to a loss for the first trade.

At that time I started to learn myself about how to trade and manage risks better, more information I got including asking some experienced friends, joining trading groups on telegram, then learning all the technicals myself by combining them.

Although I myself am not a reliable trader ... but at least know the experience that has been made before, and in bullrun times like this do a few spot trades with profitable results.

Learning from a mentor is not bad... many of my friends learned from mentors and guided them directly... now they understand spot/futures trading from a mentor.

My story is different because I lose a lot first before I start seeking for mentor which improves my overall trading PnL. I already have the basic knowledge of trading before mentorship that’s why I apply immediately all the knowledge being shared to me.

I think the best part of having a mentor is they can teach a working strategy for them based on their experience instead of testing it for yourself. It’s a shortcut on what you should focus learning on since trading has many part.

Having mentor can give you confidence on your trade since you knew that the strategy they are teaching is already tested and working.
