Bump and some info.

- The version 2.32.2 can again be downloaded directly from inside Ledger Live. The previous couple of upgrades required that you download the new version manually from the official site.
- According to the release notes, staking ETH on the new Lido app would allow you to migrate to ETH 2.

I explored a little bit on those new features, mainly on ParaSwap and Rainbow.me.

On ParaSwap, what I checked on are the coins that are applicable to be swapped. Most of the ones I use to swap for are not available there, but it's a great feature to start of with. Easily convert some of your holdings towards what token/asset you want. Mostly this is going to be helpful to prevent depositing it to exchange or whatnot but noticed the high fee. That might be what SFR10 is talking about. Good thing I didn't push through it.

Rainbow.me showed me my holdings with NFT, including the NFT games that I played and the ones that I minted. It's helpful to see what you hold and show its graphics.

This will definitely be a stepping stone for those who want to develop and be part of the ledger catalog.

I think that's worse than the reported fee differences on the above Reddit link Shocked
Who knows. Maybe their profit margins aren't always the same or they vary based on the customer's locations or some other factors. Many other members who frequent this board have Ledger hardware wallets, maybe they can check what rate they get.

I should also mention these are the just the fees shown on the site once you open it. I haven't connected my hardware wallet or started the swap process. Maybe the rates would be even more different if I actually went ahead with a trade.

When it comes to "hidden fees", if the app shows you exactly how much you get, I don't think it's a hidden fee.
I am not sure if those are the hidden fees that one user mentioned on reddit. You will lose plenty of money exchanging through LL, but if they show you the correct sum and you agree to it, I don't consider that to be a hidden fee.

You're right, but I wasn't sure what would be the appropriate term for such a thing.
- Perhaps, I should've said "ridiculous" fees instead.

I was interested in checking the rates you get from ParaSwap through Ledger Live and the ones shown when you visit the official app at https://paraswap.io/. The reddit link above was true regarding the rates on LL being worse.
Thank you for checking that part of LL. I was considering purchasing a Nano S for that feature + a couple of the upcoming ones [not to make the switch] but thanks to you, I don't think I should do it for now.
- Having said that, I have no doubt it's a great hardware wallet.

At the moment when I took the screenshot, the official website showed that for 1 ETH you would get 2798 USDT.
Ledger Live had an exchange rate of 1 ETH = 2771 USDT.
That's a difference of $27 and a nice earner for Ledger Undecided

I think this is basically advertisement.  It is very likely that those app are paying a lot of money to appear in the "discover " tab
Most probably, yes. Ledger isn't running a charitable organization, so if you want your name mentioned in their app, you most certainly have to pay for it. That's how advertising works. Do you remember that 1xBit at one point appeared on Bitcointalk? Theymos quickly rectified the mistake and wrote that he wasn't aware of the casino's reputation. And why would he be, if he isn't a gambler himself? The point is, no one thinks any less of theymos for selling 1xBit ad space, and I wouldn't do that in this particular case either.

Personally,  I think this is bad for Ledger. They are endorsing (indirectly) those projects, which some may turn out to be unsuccessful or just scams.
I agree, and it would be interesting to keep an eye on the brands that appear there and what happens with them in the future. Honestly, this is the first time I hear about ParaSwap and some of the other names that are mentioned to be included in the future. I wonder how quickly Ledger would end their partnership with that particular brank if they turn into a scam?

But, I don't like to see all those ads in my wallet ui
I don't think you will see them unless you enter the Discover section of Ledger Live.

Ledger has recently introduced a Discover section in their Ledger Live application. There, you can find their new App Catalog that features several already available apps and many applications to be released in the future.

Currently, the following apps are accessible through Ledger Live’s App Catalog:

I understand that they are a company and need to make money ... they would be silly not to explore their app. But, I don't like to see all those ads in my wallet ui

Have you personally tried using this feature that came out roughly 2 months ago?
I have not tried it. I will be back on my work computer later today and I will fire up Ledger Live to see what their TOS says about the ParaSwap (if there is such a thing). I am not that into alts and own almost no ERC-20 tokens.

In addition to that, it looks like there are "hidden fees" in place for using that feature through ledger live.
Thanks for making everyone aware of this. It is expected that Ledger would earn something with this agreement, but they seem to be taking a quite large piece of the cake. I will take a look at it.

When it comes to "hidden fees", if the app shows you exactly how much you get, I don't think it's a hidden fee. It's a different story if they showed you one rate, but you end up with a smaller sum in your wallet once the swap is finished. If their exchange rate is really bad, one might question why that is and why are they trying to make so much money on their customers.

- A few users were complaining on both Reddit and Youtube about bugs.

Ledger has recently introduced a Discover section in their Ledger Live application. There, you can find their new App Catalog that features several already available apps and many applications to be released in the future.

Currently, the following apps are accessible through Ledger Live’s App Catalog:

  • ParaSwap – A DEX for exchanging Ethereum-based tokens.
  • Wyre – A payment API only available to US customers, allowing people to buy bitcoin and various other cryptocurrencies.
  • Rainbow.me – A non-custodial wallet for ETH and Ethereum tokens, which also functions as a gallery for NFTs.
  • Zerion – A dApp for managing ERC-20 tokens and exploring various DeFi markets.

Among the upcoming releases, Ledger plans to include lending/borrowing platforms AAVE, Compound, and the staking protocol Lido.

You can read more about this below:

Ledger has also created a Developer Portal. It’s a complete guide for creating Ledger-native crypto apps and instructions on integrating your own coins, tokens, and dApps. If you are a developer and would like to develop something that will work with Ledger, you should definitely check out the resources available on the Developer Portal.

The developer portal contains examples of code and tools that can help developers build their own software for Ledger Live.
