Received 2 Ledger Blue, and tested some applications. Opening non-Bitcoin code based app, and going back to dashboard menu, makes Blue freeze and won't be able to control it without force-restarting. Needs some more bug fixes.

Thank you for the review. What is the additional passphrase? Do you mean "PASSPHRASE ATTACHED TO A PIN" function, or "TEMPORARY PASSPHRASE" function?

I used the "Temporary Passphrase" which I can only assume allows you to switch to using the passphrase.

It looks like they have just released an update (2.1.1). Could you check if passphrases work properly? According to their reddit, every device from the last batch will have that update pre-installed.

I saw that and I did update but I do not believe it is still working. I will be reentering my seed probably tomorrow to make sure I enter my seed correctly.

EDIT: Yea the firmware fixed it

I would advice not using the additional passphrase with the new update for the ledger blue. There seem to be some type of bug because when you use an additional passphrase and look in your wallet for a history, it will not show up.

If youre using an additional passphrase with the blue right now, I would highly advice moving your coins into a wallet that isnt linked to an additional passphrase until this bug is fixed.

I would not be filled with confidence laying out for one of these. They claim they'll continue to support it at the same time as saying there will be no more, yet anyone can see they've only just gotten around to updating it for a second time when the Nano has had a stream of work done on it in comparison.

If it was 22 Euros it might be worth a punt.
yeah, I totally agree with you. I was going to buy one of those Ledger Blue, but now I don't.
They had plenty of time to get ready for the sale, and they've just updated their old blog post for the delay. Can't trust their words about future updates either.

I trust them as a company, but they just don't pay attention to their Blue line nearly as much because so many more people have the Nano S.
I'm using Nano S, and working perfectly, but can't believe them with Blue. Maybe they were updating their final batches for the latest firmware 2.1? but still, taking too much time.

I thought final batch of Ledger Blue was sold from yesterday (June 25th), but it's still out of stock on their website. Are they not selling them anymore? or just delayed?
According to the update on the original blog post... it has been delayed slightly, but does not give an actual date:
UPDATE: Late June (first expected date of June 25th may be a bit delayed), a final batch of 10,000 Ledger Blue units will be sold on ledgerwallet.com at a price of 229 EUR (without tax).
wow, thank you for the info. The 'UPDATE' wasn't there when I checked that blog post last time. I hope, bit delayed, happens within a week.

"@Stezco1 A new product will be announced today at Consensus Conference."

@TheQuin Maybe something completely different? They just tweeted this 🤔

So they've already ruled out "equivalent form factor" so maybe it's a half-sized blue.... or they're venturing into the coffee maker market.

I guess enetrprises better stock up or what?

i don't think they ever took them up in the first place. i've hardly ever seen a mention of this device anywhere outside the ledger reddit sub, and most of the mentions there are complaints.

So they decided to stop production, probably because they have something new in plan.

It seems odd they say this:

And there won’t be a successor to the Blue or a new product with an equivalent form factor.

I'm not sure if that means they'll just develop the Nano S from now on or if they're planning something completely different.

But it is good that new firmware will be released soon, although it is pretty strange behavior from Ledger toward one of his product all this time. They've always been slow in general, but lately have shown some signs of improvement for the better. I'm interested how long they will need to sell that last 10 000 devices.

interesting to see this. for a while it looked like it was completely abandoned. and since they ain't making any more i guess that's only been postponed. i saw quite a few reports of people with dead ledger blues. i was tempted by the idea. i dodged a bullet there.

That is fair. Intended to be the hardware wallet for enterprise customers.
