Since their product are used by both newbie and power-user, there should be option to enable customizable fees (which disabled by default to make the wallet noob-friendly)
power-user will use any trusted third-party software (MEW or Mycrypto).

I agree, but there are few altcoin which don't have light client that support HW wallet. In this case, the power user is only could choose to run full node (takes time and storage) or use Ledger Live.

Hi, I don't know if this correct topic for my posting,  but I'm desperate. I distinctly remember installing Ledger Live on my Win 10 PC but can't find it. Search didn't help. Could someone tell me where it keeps its data so that I could locate it directly.

See if the "C:\Program Files\Ledger Live" folder exists. This is where the software files are at.
And the data files (related to the wallet itself) are stored in "%appdata%/Ledger Live"

If they spend a little time adding such basic features instead of listing more shitcoins, they would be better.
I think the reason for not customizing fees is RBF and the well-known bug.

Well, then tell them how much you think this option should be available. No one here works for Ledger.

Every time you add a function you risk causing other issues.
Tried to set a custom fee and accidentally added 1 full ETH as a fee?
Wanted to do 10 because the network was contested and accidentally put 100 or 1?

-snip-
There have been and probably still are a few wallets, that although they do give you control of the fee, you have to dig so far into the menus, that it's easier to go get a job, fund your college education, get a better job, earn some more money, get the cash, and deliver it to whoever you were sending the crypto to, then to find where to change the fee settings.

Dave,

It is not a matter of money of time only.

I am here to test, discover and try many possibilities with this new technology. I believe many people here in this forum are here for this reason as well. (I was going to say most people, but the spammers are so much more lol)

So, letting people choose which fee they want to pay is fine imo anyway.

If you can't even click 1 gwei or 1000000000 gwei (1 eth), this user wouldn't be able to Ctrl c + Ctrl V the address , or even choose the correct value to transfer.

There must be some reason, they can't be so lazy lol

It looks so easy just to make a button "Customize your fee" , a new text box opens and you can put the number you want.

As said above them not giving you control just makes their lives easier.

It also could be seen as laziness Tongue

That's sad, that there is no customizable fee.
I sent with 1gwei and my transaction was confirmed in the next block.

Maybe those wallet services are also miners and want to increase fees? I can't understand such limitations
Many people put the lower fee possible because they want to be cheap, while they don't understand the consequences of doing this. Then they complain that their transaction took hours/days to get confirmed. That's why some wallets try to be as noob-friendly as possible (e.g: having a minimum fee that will hardly make the tx get stuck).

The minimum is determined by their server and not necessarily 3 Gwei. I just opened Ledger Live and the "slow" option (minimum) shows 2 Gwei. If you need more flexibility, use MEW or any other third-party client like you were already doing until they decide to let you choose whatever amount you want (if they decide).

I thought they would have an "advanced mode" feature, but I can't see anything like this.

I was going to use my ledger live today. First time I was going to make a transaction without using third party software (like MEW or Mycrypto).

But I couldn't. The minimum Gas Price ledger live allowed me to use was 3 Gwei.

I checked https://ethgasstation.info/ and the standard gas price was 1Gwei. So I just logged into MyCrypto.com and made the transfer as I always did.

How come ledger company build this new Ledger Live software, and just decided that the minimum gas price should be 3 Gwei? Or not fully customizable? Just can`t understand some choices...

Beautiful interface, but not so good to use.
