Before anyone else jumps in... I have been in communication with the OP via PM as well and this issue has now been resolved.

OP used the "I lost my password" link in Ledger Live login screen... then used the "Use an initialised device" option... connected the device when prompted... created a new password and then re-added their crypto asset accounts to their portfolio in Ledger Live.

I reset it as Tryninja says.  Did not uninstall and reinstall ledger live.

On the page...

Get started with your ledger device

Initialize as new device

Restore device from recovery phrase

Use as initialized device

Don't have a ledger account

I'm pretty certain its the 3rd option

Use as initialized device?

OP just needs to go through the “I lost my password” option to reset his Ledger Live data, and connect his Nano S again (which will ask for a new password). He absolutely doesn’t need to reinstall the Ledger Live.

I’ve been talking to him through PM and just wanted to make things clearer here.

I do not need my 24 word seed to do this correct?

No, you don't.

So i have to uninstall it from add/remove programs... then download same ledger live from the site?

You can uninstall and then re-install it using the file you've previously downloaded from the site, no need to download it again.

Could i use the chrome store to access bitcoin ledger in chrome or not?  I won't use it normally though since ledger live is preferred but can we still access it through the chrome app?

You can still use the old Chrome app but it is risky. It's better to restore your access to Ledger Live (which won't harm any asset that you have).
Basically, it's like using your Ledger + Ledger Live on a new computer.

Im bit confused here.  Can't i just click forget password and set new one and then follow the instructions and no longer need to uninstall and reinstall ledger live?

Check this out: https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006395233
Under "Step 4. Choose a password (optional)" you'll see a note:

Quote
Note: Make sure to remember your password. Losing it requires resetting Ledger Live and re-adding accounts. This does not affect your crypto assets.

I think that answers your problem. Uninstall -> Reinstall your Ledger live

I logged into my ledger live a few days ago without an issue.  My problem now is i cannot seem to find the password and i think i lost it.  Thus i cannot enter a password now because i dont know what it is.  I have my nano ledger s with me at the moment.

1.  What do i do now?  Can i install ledger live again?  Do I click the lost password under it on ledger live?  If i do, does that mean i have to install the apps again?  I installed bitcoin, bitcoin cash, gold and a few other coins in it.  Do i need to uninstall ledger live from my add/remove programs and then download it again?

2.  Do you recommend me logging into the google chrome bitcoin ledger app?  I believe its still active right so i could do that?  Of course ledger live is better and thus don't bother with this right?
