bitcoin one segwit, bitcoin cash one .  That is correct?
That will be correct if those are the account your previously used.

When you are adding accounts, it will give you the option of adding existing accounts (which you have used previously), as well as the option of adding new accounts. Existing accounts will be checked by default, and adding brand new accounts will be unchecked by default. If you simply clicked on add without changing the check boxes, then you will have added your previously used account(s) and not added any brand new accounts, which it sounds like is what you are trying to achieve.

You can confirm this is correct by ensuring your balance is accurate and that all your coins are accounted for.

I only added bitcoin, bitcoin cash and bitcoin gold app in my nano ledger s.  I added the same ones back to it when i clicked on add accounts.  I don't have any other coins i added.  I actually don't even have any bitcoin gold on my nano ledger wallet but just added the app.

I meant was the way i added my accounts correct in terms of when adding bitcoin?  When it was done syncing, it asked me to either add account... which was the bitcoin segwit account.. or i had an option to like check two boxes with bitcoin.  Such as bitcoin segwit one and bitcoin two... i forgot if the two said legacy or not.  I just clicked on add and just added bitcoin segwit.  So i want to know if i did it correct.

-snip

We don't know if you don't have any more accounts. If you see all of your coins then everything is fine. You will be always able to use third party software to access your funds if something goes wrong with Ledger Live in the future.

Hey all.  Okay so I updated ledger live first... then added accounts.  When i first added bitcoin, it gave me option of just clicking add  OR  i could check two boxes and add like two different accounts.  I only clicked on add without checking two boxes.  That is fine right?  It does show Bitcoin one segwit... that is correct right?  When i first set bitcoin up in ledger live, im pretty sure i picked segwit as oppose to legacy because i recall ppl said segwit you pay less fees.

I then added btc cash as well.  It does show correct balances.

So is everything correct now?  The bitcoin cash didn't show anything complicated.  Basically the accounts now show

bitcoin one segwit, bitcoin cash one .  That is correct?

Thanks.

The update is for Ledger Live, not for your Ledger device. Provided your hardware wallet hasn't reset and you can still unlock it using the PIN as normal, then your coins are quite safe.

Do the update first, then once Ledger Live has updated, connect your hardware wallet and enter the PIN as you normally would. If you accounts aren't showing up, then simply re-add them.

Yes thats correct.  But first thing i do right now add accounts or install the update?

Either way should be fine. I would update Ledger Live first in case it again forgot all the accounts for some reason.

jerry0, you have Nano S for how long, 1-2 years, and you haven't learned any basics? All you have to do is open Ledger Live, connect your Nano S and follow the simple instructions from this link, and if these instructions are not clear to you, there is also an option to watch a video tutorial.

Hey guys.  Just to confirm, add accounts and connect my ledger and put pin to it first right?  Then do the update on the top?  Or do i do the update first?

It has never happened to me yet but it shouldn't be a big issue. Just add your accounts and apps one more time. And make sure to update to the newest version of Ledger Live. As you know, your coins are not on the Ledger app, they are on the blockchain. You are just using Ledger Live as a medium to view what you have.

Go to "Add accounts" and add the accounts you have. These tabs (Portfolio, Send, Receive) get grayed out when there are no accounts added.

P.S: Your coins aren't are risky due to this. Sometimes Ledger Live just removes the accounts for no reason but you can just add them again while the Ledger is connected.

Do I

Click on install now for update first?

Or

Click Open Manager and then Connect my Ledger to it after putting in my pin?

I never had this ever happen before when i log into ledger live.  Is there a chance ledger live deleted my account or something?  I did not connect my nano ledger to it at the moment.  Basically the portfolio, send and receive is grayed out.

I opened ledger live program from my windows computer as usual and when i put in the password, i get message

Install apps or add accounts

Open the Manager to install apps or add accounts if your ledger device already has apps installed

Options are

Open Manager or Add Accounts

On the Menu, seems to be highlighted Accounts with a blue dot to it.  On the top there does show message

Update ready to install and Install Now on the eight of It.

The thing though is why does it not display my portfolio?  I have btc and bch and whenever i log into ledger live, it immediately shows my btc and bch balance.

Can someone tell me what happened here?  I cannot click on my portfolio as that is grayed out.  Only thing i can click on is accounts, manager and buy crypto.
