Limited in number. Limitless in potential.

I encountered this issue when the first time I use of my ledger, I already did whatever on the site said(download the app) but the app doesn't detect the ledger tho the computer detects the device (it's when there's something sound when you plugged the device).
And since the ledger is just new I tried to "reset all"  the ledger.

When open the device, configure the pin, copy the 24-word seed, then install the "App manager" for chrome, connect the ledger then install the coins you want(BTC/BCH, ETH, LTC, Doge, etc. ) then after that I can open the ledger using the chrome app which I downloaded. Though it takes hours before I did that since I researched first.

You need to install the "Ledger Wallet Bitcoin" Chrome App (which is sounds like you have)... then you start the "Ledger Wallet Bitcoin" app and you'll get the popup window asking to connect the Ledger device...

Connect the device, enter your PIN and then select the "Bitcoin" app on your Nano S.

The "Ledger Wallet Bitcoin" app should then detect your Nano S, and prompt you to choose "Bitcoin" or "Bitcoin Cash" (then Legacy or SegWit)... and then finally open your wallet up.

Thanks, mjglqw. I wasn't sure what my problem was either, but I seem to have sorted it or, more likely, it seems to have sorted itself!

Where did you purchase your Ledger Nano S? Did you get them from the ledgerwallet.com website or somewhere else like Amazon?

Also, here are the instructions: https://www.ledgerwallet.com/start/ledger-nano-s

I couldn't determine what specific part you're having problems with. Can you give more details?

I hoped the two would just work together.

I received the Nano today. It comes with no useful instructions but the Ledger website told me to download this wallet which I did. And, ever so occasionally, I manage to open it after maybe 20 minutes.

The nano opens with my PIN but then does nothing other than allowing me to choose Yes or No for support.

Can I find out if I have a normally working Nano?

Thanks
