Ah ok, I didn't notice the QR changes when you enter an amount.  Makes sense now.  It's a convenience for the sender when they scan the code.

Don't care if they ask how many Bitcoins do you want to receive (this is just if you want to create a QR), just copy the adress

I don't know if is possible to generate a 12 word's seed using ledger but you can introduce a 12 word seed if you already have it. just write your 12 words leaving the rest of empty spaces empty and click confirm presing both buttons

Why does the Ledger wallet app in Chrome ask me how much Bitcoin to receive?  It appears to be an optional field since it is grey but why is it even there?

Also on a side note, if you have one of these Ledger hardware wallets, be very careful if you restore using the 24 word seed.  When re-entering each word you only enter enough letters for it to present a list of 2 or 3 or 4 words to pick from (an "auto-complete" type thing).  If you pick the wrong word accidentally it appears you either have to start over or worse if you don't realize you picked the wrong word you now will have a whole different account!

Also did they really have to use a 24 word seed?  12 or 18 would be much more convenient and still perfectly secure.  I don't see any way to force it to use the smaller seeds, is there?
