Why is the nano x called too the moon?
To the moon is just an edition of nano x, a limited one. Only those ledger hard supporters or those who love to make it as a collection, or someone who wants more storage than the nano s will buy it.

Most people here on crypto excluding those 0% knowledge ledger or hardware wallet stuffs do knows that buying a secondhand one is a very risky move to make.
Why? You cant be sure if those keys are 100% safe.So its not really that advisable or even reselling it would really be hard for sure.

Yeah, I'm sorry but I wouldn't even buy 2nd hand at 90% discount. I would probably buy it from a guy I actually trusted here on this forum, but even then, only as a gift for someone else, or perhaps experimentation, or for an amount of coin I'm willing to lose. I mean, we're talking about less than $100 to secure possibly a lot more coin.

If you're looking to sell to a collector, you'll want to preserve it and scout for prices in a couple of years. When BTC is, actually, to the moon;)

Dakid03, it wouldn't be a bad decision to keep that hardware wallet despite buying something new. It is always wise to have something as a backup option, in case one hardware wallet breaks down, the only safe and proper way is to restore it to another hardware wallet.

Plus, if you sell it, you'll be at a loss - at least 20-30% because no one will pay you a full price for a used device.

I doubt anyone is going to buy a used hardware wallet.

I thought the same, but then I had a look at ebay's sold listings section for ledger nano hardware wallets. Plenty of used hardware wallets are sold and plenty more will be sold in the coming days/weeks/months.

People are clueless when it comes to everything related to crypto. It's kinda sad to see, but it directly shows that we have a very long way to go in order to have common joes be comfortable enough to use Bitcoin on a daily basis in a safe and secure manner. In crypto there is no central entity that refunds you for your stupidity like banks do. Money lost is money lost and there is no one to complain to.

Why is the nano x called too the moon?
It's just part of their branding and marketing. But if you want a deeper answer from them, they have it on their official website.

To The Moon
5 years ago, 8 explorers from different origins, stood together with one common goal: bringing security & innovation to the cryptosphere. This is how Ledger’s story started.

Our mission: Going to the moon.

Celebrate 5 years of crypto evolution with the new Ledger Nano X Limited Edition. With its specific engraving and one-of-a-kind box, buy yourself peace of mind.

Why is the nano x called too the moon?

This is a marketing ploy. Usually, the color of the case changes, but otherwise they are the same. So it was at least with model nano s. I liked the model in the white case, but now they sell it with a good margin, because circulation was limited. Perhaps ledger nano x (To The moon Edition ) over time will also cost more than now. But I know for sure that the ledger's products at the moment are one of the best means of protection. Here are some user reviews about nano x: https://revain.org/wallets/ledger-nano-x. Those who wish can add information about to the moon edition, if there is anything to say on the topic.

100% sure you won't get any buyer for that. It's very unsafe to buy used hardware wallet.

You're totally overestimating the knowledge of the typical cryptocurrency investor. I don't really think we can expect them to know the risks of using a second-hand hardware wallet if a lot of people don't even use or even know the importance of non-custodial wallets in the first place.

Just sell it on eBay or whatever your country's eBay counterpart is. The Ledger Nano X To The Moon Edition is probably going to be stopped being sold on the Ledger website sometime soon, so I assume it wouldn't be difficult for you to sell it.
I don't think you'll have any chance selling it on ebay, I doubt there are going to be a lot of people interested in a second hand cold storage wallet, especially with all the new articles about buying comprised hardware from eBay resellers.

It's a very interesting and unique wallet, you could try advertise it as a collectors edition and try sell it to someone who is interested in collecting cold wallets or other bitcoin trinkets.

Keep holding it and it might become extremely expensive in a couple years!

where is the marketplace located thanks hopefully I could sell this and yea i understand which is going to be hard to sell Embarrassed

100% sure you won't get any buyer for that. It's very unsafe to buy used hardware wallet. That edition may worth something in the future and you may sell it. Limited Edition items are always scarce and expensive.

Personally, I wouldn't get a second-hand hardware wallet; it may be tampered with or something — just my two cents.
I agree, and I wouldn't buy one used from anyone, even if it came still sealed in its box and was supposedly new.  That's my paranoia perhaps, but I'd rather spend a few extra bucks to buy it new from Ledger themselves.

And OP, I wouldn't sell it if you don't have to.  If they discontinue the To The Moon edition, I'm sure it'll become a collectible and you'd be able to sell it at a premium at some point in the future.  And I happen to like it a lot and have been thinking about buying one just to have it.  I've become somewhat of a fan of the Ledger since buying my Nano S, and I wouldn't mind getting a special edition model while it's still available.  I say keep it.  And as others have said, you might not even be able to sell it for a reasonable price since it's pre-owned.

No body buys a second hand hardware wallet. If you are able to find someone then let me know 😀. Unless you find a newbie, might be lucky on ebay.

maybe you can create a thread in the sale and purchase of goods, there are many who offer physical goods to sell, maybe you can try it, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0 I hope your goods sell quickly and don't forget to be careful when making a transaction.

It would probably decrease the chances of being picked up on eBay, knowing that it is a second-hand edition unless he/she wants it for collection. Personally, I wouldn't get a second-hand hardware wallet; it may be tampered with or something — just my two cents.

You may be able to sell on this forum or on eBay, etc.  However, I have heard that some people won’t buy a used hardware wallet because there is potential that it was tampered with.  So it may not be easy to sell.
