Check the page for the ledger nano S, you can see the currently supported coins.

https://www.ledgerwallet.com/products/ledger-nano-s

They seem to be very proactive in adding new coins/tokens all the times.

And it does support all ERC20 based tokens.

Ledger is also capable of deal with token/coins on the basis of ERC20.
In order to use these you have to switch on browser support (in the Ethereum app on the ledger) and to use MyEtherWallet, then you are able to acces these ERC20 tokens.
So, please check if the coins you want to store on the ledger and are not supported directly by Ledger are ERC20 tokens.

if they're not supported by your device, then you should find another way to store them.
Yep.

@OP The thing is: to develop HW wallet is quite a hard work. And nobody is going make HW wallet for useless/unpopular coins.

So if you are asking about other coins than BTC (and forks), LTC, ETH .... and few others. You have to use some other wallet. For extra safety you can use cold storage (offline device), or paper wallet.

Hello-
Not sure if this was a topic for the alt section or the beginner section. Here goes. I have some coins on various exchanges (binance, coinexchange for example) and would like to get onto my ledger but the coins don't seem to be supported. Does that sound right? What are other ways to link these coins to my ledger if they aren't supported and get them off of the exchanges. Suggestion?
