Does anyone know of a site, or sites that summarize *all* altcoins, and breaks down their history, mkt cap, total coins in circulation, % premined (if any), % mined in early days, and basically summarizes their legitimacy? Something like an altcoin investment site, or "motley fool" for altcoins would be invaluable in this community imho.

With decentralized communities the main metric you're interested in is "quality of community".
