I am sure that you will not be able to recognize high-quality fraud.
Of course, if this is frank fraud, you just have to look at their site, read the white paper if there is one, see their activity on social networks to understand that the project is questionable.

I agree with what was written above.  First of all you need to search in Google, then on the forum to look at the topic with a mention of this ico.. and continue to show patience and analyze the idea of the project and the team

There have been many sites that rated ICO with the ratings, they consider the team, ideas and many kinds like icobench.
Do your own research by reading whitepaper, there will be presented teams that manage ICO projects, do the research on what is presented is the original photo, the real name of their team, so when we follow the ICO they will be risking many things by directly deceiving us.
See the project flow or roadmap whether it will be good in the future it will enable ICO to succeed or not.
And also usually ICO do bounty program, for example, the bounty manager is AmaZix, they have investigated and consider the project is safe because they also do not want their names look bad.

I look to see if the project is interesting, the message is transparent, and the people are reputable.  Then I go with my gut instinct.

How to know if the ICO I join is scam or legit?

As of today, a lot of scam ICOs are really good in pretending to be a legitimate one. What you can do and what I usually do is to further investigate the developers, the managers, and the achievements of the company. Really basic but helpful.

I would recommend to pay attention to these factors: they must have a good Whitepaper, read it scrupulously, cause some ICO just steal somebody's else Whitepaper and just change the name of the project. They must have MVP on their website, cause lots of projects like to write how cool they are, but don't have anything except these pompous words. Their employees should have profiles on Linkedin, for example, cause scammers are afraid of revealing their personality and often they whether don't have any profiles of steal somebody's photos. Check their groups on the different social networks, they should be active and not filled with bots and fakes. Check their profile on GitHub. I would recommend you to pay your attention to Cryptics - forecasting platform which does use 100% AI. Their project does satisfy with all these requirements. They have already had a good MVP. Their AI does analyze the market of crypto currency and make daily, hourly and four-hourly forecasts for the different matches of cryptos, some exchanges and for the market. There will also be opportunity to trade and make investments. In September they are going to launch a trading bot on the platform.

It's always good to research their development team--every single member--their experience, qualifications, etc. Does their idea/project suffer from delusions of grandeur or is there a clear, concise problem they are addressing and providing a solution for? Additionally, check their social media presence. Do their followers seem like real people? There has to be a balance of positive reviews and constructive criticism and even some skepticism. In the end, the moral of the story is you have to exercise your due diligence by researching as thoroughly as possible. Even then, however, this is a subjective matter in that it's really up to you how deep you go. But if you strongly believe in the project, go for it.

All that said if you'd like to learn more about ICO's feel free to check out our ICO guide on our blog at: http://bit.ly/ICOGuide

Cheers!

There are three ways to check that ICO is a scam or legit.
1 If the token developers of an ICO are anonymous or unknown.
2 The team behind launching the ICO.
3 If there are unrealistic goals set up in the whitepaper of an ICO.

It gets harder and harder as scammers become more skillful at deceiving people. However, it's always worth to spend 3-4 hours of diligent Google search in order to avoid traps.

How to know if the ICO I join is scam or legit?
if the project is only starting you cant determine whether they are legit or not. You will only notice something strange when the ico is ending. Its so hard to figure out scam icos at first place.

Here I have enlisted few points you should check whether your desired ICO is SCAM or LEGIT.

1. Irrespective of beautiful website design, reverse engineer info stated in bio pf team members. Most of the ICO's can be checked doing this.
2. You can use telegram as weapon to verify they are here to make product delivered or just to run away with our money. Just ask question about company's license and where it is registered. Apart from that, you can ask question related to pure development; if they fail to provide answer, you got minus point.
3. Always look at the partner listed in ICO website. You can ask directly to partner regarding their partnership and duration of partnership.
4. If you are really finding a gem, you should look at their soft cap and hard cap. For a working product as an expansion to blockchain, if they need really large cap then you should get rid of them.
5. Apart from that, remember Hype doesn't provide them the stamp of legitimate. You should avoid ICO providing too much bonus in sale.
