I just checked bitshopusa and they really seemed legit. They have good reviews and a huge plus is they have a reversible payment method.
The only thing I didn't like is they are only shipping on selected countries and their site is anonymous but then again it doesn't matter if you're gonna choose a reversible payment method.

You might also wanna check out https://www.antminerdistribution.com. They're also a reseller but based on EU. Here's they're VAT # NL - 858250470B01.
Where did you found the reversible payment? I tried to order from bitshopusa the payment methods are a credit card, bitpay/bitcoin, and bank wire/bank deposit. I think these list of payment option is not reversible.

And it's still not safe to sacrifice even they have reversible payment because the price of mining equipment is expensive.

For me, it's still the best to buy directly to bitmain.com just to be safe than ordering a miner in other websites.

There are many phishing websites nowadays so safety should your priority.

Credit cards are reversible  Wink

Yes yes bitmain is still the safest but I don't think that there will be no risk in buying there as it will always exist no matter where you will buy IMO. Read the reviews about them, it's full of delayed shipments, defective items, poor customer support etc.. which can be a reason why some people might look for a reseller.

Hi All,

New to the industry and the board here, lots of information to read and take in! Please feel free to move this thread/question to an already created thread if  this is redundant.

Is there a list of vendors to purchase mining equipment from that are above board on their business and then a list to stay away from? I've spoke to a person at bitshopusa.com about S9's and L3's, seemed legit, but not sure until making a purchase. Also, browsed bitmain.today website that looks like rather discounted equipment there, so was a little sketchy on them.

If there is already a list please provide the link to that tread.

Thanks!
Good thing that you did able to asked out first before on making any purchase for that site. Advises above is really recommendable to be followed which is actually true. A simple google will really help you out either you would be convinced to buy such thing from them or not. Searching up things isnt really time consuming, always seek out for feedbacks and sites reputation. If in doubt or not satisfied with results then better skip than to risk and get scammed.
It is really important to ask first if you are a frequent online buyer because you never know who you dealing with and giving your money to a person behind the internet is quite different than in real life. A google help will do but will take some time but it is indeed worth it for a shot. So, for all out there that is planning on buying through online i suggest to do some research as i did too and read some reviews. This will help you to make your next move.

In addition to what "wavelengthsf" mentioned above, you can also use "Badbitcoin" website (it gets updated frequently but shouldn't completely rely on it [some of the websites appear to be missing or haven't been listed yet]).
Take note: It's more of a general list, instead of focusing on mining vendors.

A simple rule: Stay away from websites that offer an attractive prices.
Great advice didn't think it would actually work but you did it anyway i didn't think enough but you simplified the problem by stating the obvious reasons and putting up into words that anyone can understand that's some high quality posting right there. Indeed it is obvious for a scammer to lure his costumers/victims with an absurd deal that anyone that is new to this business be scammed because they lack the knowledge to go through this.

Thank you everyone for your input and sharing some online shops to look into and stay away from. With bitshopusa allowing a credit card, I actually feel more safe with that method being in the states myself. Obviously spot the ones not looking legit (no reviews, spam emailers/pms, etc) then choose one if not bitmain and maybe just give one a try.

But again thanks on the input, I'll keep checking back in here to see if more people add to the list.

Many phishing site share the advertisement everywhere and target the newbies in the forum to make interest on them. You may find the random ICO and other project investment sent a pm to all.
If you want to buy the Antminer series ASIC machine, your right place bitmain only. Other sites I believe the long term eBay reseller and Alibaba. Other zero reviewed sites are not fit for investing and buy from them.

Nowadays there are very many sites that accept payment via Bitcoin, but there is no definite list. Because usually the site is only developed in a country only, because of the difficult confidence when buying and selling goods between countries. In my country there are now a lot of sites that accept Bitcoin, usually using Bitcoin is limited to forum members, buyers and sellers are from a bitcoin forum in my country. Trust is a major problem because of the difficulty of tracking down Bitcoin users, so criminals are much easier to perform. In contrast to the conventional BANK that can be reported to the police and blocking occurs. Currently there should be a regulation that governs Bitcoin for the realization of the use of Bitcoin which is much larger and wider among the people in the world.

If they're not shop.bitmain.com, you shouldn't buy Bitmain gear there.

There are some legit shops that sell Bitmain stuff, but always at a markup (for example, eastshore.xyz or myrig.com)

There's also legit shops that sell other company miners, like blokforge, who have more than just Canaan gear.
