Visa expects more people to pay in the future using cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, which has soared in value this year and back almost to it's old all time high as more financial institutions and investors buy bitcoin, I believe that there will be less Fiat spending and more digital currency spending in future, what do you think?
Fiat money are also available on digital market and they also have online transactions so I don’t think only crypto will increase since this market becomes an investment market and very few are actually spending their bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, most us are just holding, trading and used this for gambling. I’m bullish in this market but I don’t think fiat money will left behind as easy as this one.

It's really possible and we already close to become an Cashless Society, For now i suppose you all more less use Fiat expect buying on Grocery Store, Paying parking Fee, etc, But beside that you guys already using Paypal, Credit Card, Apple Pay Frequently, Maybe around 60% Fiat and 40% Digital Currency. This ratio will continue to be dominated by Digital Currency as time goes by and when it reaches its peak, people will start to see Cryptocurrency as the main transaction tool alternative because "Traditional" Digital Currency is not transparent, expensive and slow. It's about time and we can see this really soon!

I doubt that people would use crypto more than they would use fiat. I believe this was more at the lines of "using money digitally than cash" which is probably already true but it would become a bigger gap in the future. How many of us here still use banknotes? I honestly use my card more than I use cash, which is still not zero but it is quite close to it.

So, that could be true even right now but that is definitely what was tried to say here. If it was purely just crypto used more than fiat, that is a very big and frankly unrealistic expectation, I feel like it is not there yet and it would probably take some time before we could say that crypto would be used more, sure that could happen in maybe 50+ years but by that time we probably will have neither cash nor crypto and something brand new.

The futures of payment would be crypto but not necessarily bitcoin. There are a lot of national and decentralized crypto coins that are fast to transact and cheap on fees. People would be using them to pay for local as well as international payments. Some countries would surely try to restrict it's people and try to make them use the crypto issued by the government but unless they go inside a complete isolation, there's no way a government could stop a decentralized currency.

Technically speaking, we already have more digital expenses than Fiat ones. How long have you been paying real cash for something? That's it.
All those numbers on your cards and accounts are not always real money and you know it very well and everyone accepts these strange and very shaky rules of the game of money.
The difference between these digital expenses and paying in conditional BTC for your coffee is only in the payment system and a couple of technological features.
So here the same Visa experts are wrong or you misunderstood them - the difference in the future will not be in the growth of digital transactions as such, but in the shift of the technological pole from conventional systems to blockchain and smart contracts-and this does not need bitcoin as such, believe me. The higher the price of BTC , the more people want ordinary dollars from this price, and not use cryptocurrencies for payment. What is on the cryptocurrency market now is another strange rule of a strange game of money where the condition for winning is the maximum number with the $ sign on the account.
But when the move begins with already morally and technically outdated processing, then the most interesting thing will begin. The very "crypto-future" that has been predicted for 10 years in a row will begin. And then we'll see if someone else needs bitcoin or any other modern flagship, or if everyone will look at it with an ironic and kind smile, remembering the good old days.

what you are talking about is digital currency not cryptocurrency so what I think is that currently many banks have issued their digital money which has fiat underlying
and slowly physical money will be replaced with digital money. This is the initial moment, that is, we are recommended to use digital money compared to physical money because of the risk of spreading the virus, then in the next few years it is possible that money will no longer have physical properties.

The demand for digital currency is increasing rapidly this year, finally it seems that people have come to understand how strong crypto coins are but fiat won't vanished because of crypto, it's not the time for that yet, CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) isn't even up and running yet, china claimed it's almost over but we have no news or updates regarding china CBDC again so Fiat will still exist for a long time with crypto by its side

What I feel is it is obvious. Few years back, we had only the fiat currencies and no-one knew or even heard about digital or cryptocurrencies. But now the demand on digital currencies are getting increased day by day and more people are being attracted to the features and benefits it has. Therefore, we will surely see an increase in the use of digital cash in next few years.

Not just Bitcoin!

With PayPal taking the first step, more cryptos will come to the real world.

The governments will only have to accept them.

The Fiat has its days numbered ...

With bitcoin current price? I don't think people would want to spend their bitcoin on a natural spending and maybe more into holding it instead. It's price fluctuation is so fast and dont expect many will considered it using for payment. They will treat that as a good investment and aim holding it.

In my opinion its gonna be better to used other set of cryptocurrency with less fee on digital spending like xrp, dogecoin instead these bitcoin or eth.
It seems like crypto is more comparable to gold which is definitely better to hold than using for daily payments, this is why I think CBDC will better fit digital currency payments solution than bitcoin and ethereum because these crypto coins are better kept than spending

Fiat will be in digital form through CBDC in the future, whether you believe it or not Paper Fiat will slowly fade away, if there is no upcoming CBDC I wouldn't say this but payment solution will become more easier in the future with CBDC, I believe that the future will be fully digital because Fiat is going Digital

Let us believe fiats and cryptocurrencies will have to be existing together in the future, fiats can be in the digital form which makes it also be able to fit into the digital world. But, for more transparency in the future, cryptocurrencies are needed, unlike fiats that are very hard to track, cryptocurrencies can be created in a way they will be easy to track which will lead to less corrupt world.

Fiat and crypto will co exist in the future because there will always be people who prefer making payments with Fiat, not all humans are techy and some even don't know how to operate smartphones, for example old parents from the 50s era, Fiat won't go down because of digital currency payments
