There are many Indias. There's the educated, upper strata of society. This is up to speed with world developments and affairs. Then there's the huge educated middle class with its conservative values. This is currently undergoing attitude changes as the new technologies change life forever. Then there's the huge population which lives at village level. These people have traditional, conservative values. They appreciate the value of education and change is coming, but slowly. So you can understand that the elite knows and understands the value of cryptocurrency, but the awareness will take some time to filter down to all the levels of society, until all understand and appreciate the value of crypto. This us a very basic description, but I hope it gives some idea of the magnitude of the situation.

Actually in early years people thought that cryptocurrency is nothing but a fake currency but as time passed now many people started talking about it, slowly but gradually more people are getting interested in this technology and are eager to invest in crypto world of great returns. Now media is also talking more about it, which will help connecting more people to crypto market. One bull run and number of people will increase exponentially. Once government make it's stand about investing in crypto clear, audience will increase.
CRYPTO: Next gen of payment.

to adopt any new technology people takes time , same case here too . give them time and soon most of indians will be aware of it ..
first of all i am waiting for india's own altcoin .

A large number of India's population lives in the rural areas. Such areas are quite slow to adopt innovations. Nonetheless, the word is spreading. And as the awareness spreads, Indians will adapt themselves to cryptocurrency. Indians are highly adaptable people.

Roll Eyes According to some news, less than 1% Indians are aware about the thing called cryptocurrency, that means less than 1cr people
So I think their is long way to go for Indian crypto market
Awareness depends on utility and usefulness. If government and banking sectors will start accepting bitcoin then people awareness will come automatically. Now online transactions has increased many fold by the Indians so day for crypto will also come.

I guess, media influencers in India is a great help to educate their people to become aware and knowledgeable about cryptocurrency...in that way, the Indian people will be able to understand and see the reality about the cryptocurrency...and that's the start of their investment with ICO company in India...like the Bitxoxo platforms, the faster growing crypto in India..

But medias always spreading bad things about cryptocurrency,Most media here only reporting about scams taking place in cryptocurrencies and creating fear among peoples.

yes  Grin many peoples starts investing without knowing details about How Blockchain works even gov. They takes crypto like MLM business and these majority peoples are also reason of dumping any ICO/Altcoin in india .

Converting Mining over "Internet of Transactions"
It is not about 1% actually it is more then 1% Indians who know about cryptocurrency, but the main reason behind the ban is that we humans are not in the state to understand the correct meaning of any new technology. Blockchain is one of the unique technology which is made to bring more about privacy, but we humans really don't care much about privacy and freedom and running behind what our leaders says !

Yeah, I would agree to the statement " less than 1%"

India is a big country with a lot of population, and it will take a long time for 50% or more indians to be aware about cryptos
exactly!...it takes a long time to reach at least 50% of their population..but then, there still hope if we will continue to spread the information about cryptocurrency by means of social media and of course with the help of other ICO company that is already established in India, like the Bitxoxo platforms...they surely have plans to educate the people of India..

IT will take time for Indian people like us to understand the crypto-world. As we all know that we have a tendency to now to trust anything at once. People are getting knowledge gradually from one way or another. Once they understand the power of crypto-currency, very soon india will be one of the major player. And trust me , its not going to take a lot of time.(if government clears it's stand)

I think it is really sad to see that only 1% of Indians are aware about cryptos... Look at China and Japan. They are neighbouring countries and have more than 25% of people who are aware about cryptos.

india has roughly population of 1.3 billion, even 1% of awareness leads to 13 million which is almost a healthy no. if it was in a european country ( Imo its not even 1% incase of awareness). iam sure 1% of population must have heard about bitcoin but most of them don't get it. if even stats add up & 1% of population is involved in crypto currency then the future isn't that bleak. majority of the population  believes that bitcoin is some kind of internet magic which makes people rich (part of which is true although lol)

I had been thinking the crypto craze will sweep over India before the government would be able to do anything and people could make money but it is the other way round. Also, due to threats and stand of government on crypto people are keeping their distance.

IBTC
Bitcoin in India
most of people not listen about the cryptocurrency word Bitcoin some people who know the Bitcoin only know this is a cryptocurrency and also call as virtual currency money and Indian student in study as a General Knowledge he learn like capital of India Lucknow like virtual currency is bitcoin. but last year crypto currency industry Boom up to 20% and 10 startup start related to Bitcoin in India.

I think now even news and print media is covering this story of the cypto currency due to which mostly in urban areas people are aware about it. Also at present it has reached to SC and asked govt to decide if they can regulate it or else ban this. So now govt has to take a decision between the 2 and result would be out soon.

We have missed the cryptocurrency boat by years. With the current prices it is almost inconceivable that the common Indian can afford to buy Bitcoin. We would rather hold on to our gold, shares, property and fixed deposits.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin has ended up as a purely speculative business. With the early adopters making the most gains and others rushing in to emulate them. It is not what Satoshi Nakamoto intended.

If you remember the game Farmville that used to be a craze on facebook. Everyone wanted to play and have the biggest farm and the highest level in the game. Something like that is now happening in the real world with real money.

Its too late to get into the game now.

Well, it's not india only. According to 'Global Cryptocurrency Benchmarking Study' by University of Cambridge this year, number of unique active users of cryptocurrency wallets is estimated to be between 2.9 million and 5.8 million. Which is less then 1% of total world population. So, it's long way to go for cryptocurrency world market as well Smiley

I agree that
But there some coins like rupee, India which are operated by non Indian people

LOL... its a ticker symbol. One doesnt have to be Indian to make a coin called Rupee. Just like one doesnt have to be American to make a coin called USD. One does not also have to be an alien to make aliencoin or a bird to make feathercoin.

In India, only 34% of the total population are internet users....So in that scenario, you can't expect more figures. But yes, early players in Indian crypto market will definelty get a milage above these upcoming newbies.

Numbers like that mean nothing. Did you know that compared to the cows and buffaloes in India, there is only .0015% donkeys? That means there is a long way to go before donkeys become mainstream.  Grin

Slowly but gradually people are understanding this cypto currency due to various coverage in print and media. May be % wise not very sure but yes especially in rural areas they are unaware. But I think in coming time once the stand becomes clear of Government than it would be known to majority of them.
