For 2013, the stock market is up this year about 29 percent, its best year since the 1990's. On the other hand, gold is way down for the year (nearly 30 percent).

I am invested in the stock market, not gold, so I have had a good year. The reason that I am writing is to remind all investors, whatever they may have, is that is is impossible to predict what your investment will do in a year. Will bitcoin be like this year's stock market ? Maybe it will perform like gold  for next year ? Or will it be something in between? No one knows.

I see people on this board make predictions about how bitcoin will rise and be worth so much in the future. I say: be careful with predictions.

All any of us can do --  whether in the stock market, gold, or bitcoin -- is to invest wisely, not go over your head financially, and believe and trust in your investment. And make sure you think "long term".
