About 2 more weeks and I will switch from sitting and reading in the way to work and back to walking and listening to music.
I hate this weather. The winter was too long. The spring was too cold. But soon all will be much much better.

Where do you live?

In Florida it's unbearably hot and humid everywhere from April to November.

Heh, Eastern Europe.... And it was a rather cold April this year.

Ok, now is the OP a smoker?

OP was a smoker when he was a child but grew out of it later annoying other children that were getting into it.

Good on you for getting exercise. 10 miles in the heat may be a little excessive starting off. Hope you had lots of water, sunscreen, and a hat. Otherwise sounds like recipe for heat stroke or heart attack. Take care of yourself.

A hat would have been nice. And it was definitely excessive. Muscles in my back, my sides and my legs are still recovering. You can definitely get a heatstroke in Florida
When I first moved to this hellish state I went and walked around and had an adventure in the summer with a few people. All that you need to recover is 1 hour in the shade + water. But if you don't get it you suffer and you suffer until you get somewhere.

I guess I should have stopped in a gas station. I know my limits though.

Today I did the smart thing. I just drove to a park. No breathing a bunch of car fumes, dust and pesticide particles blown up by lawn care, tire and break part particles and baking by the roadside. Biking would also prevent a lot of that as well. (Reduce it by 66%)

Do you even sunscreen, bro?

I didn't. I bet on cancer and wrinkles being easily solvable when I'm old.

If you had done this in the mountains, say, at 9,000 feet (yes, people live up there), you would not only have been so out of breath that you would have stopped soon, you wouldn't have lost any weight, and you would have gotten a good sunburn on exposed parts of your body... even in colder weather.

A small price to pay when there's a carton of Camels awaiting at the end of the trek.

I'm happier but my legs are telling me "fuck you" and so is the rest of my body. I walked, run and climbed (on a playground tightrope thing). I'm not inactive but I've put on a bunch of weight.

I'm paying for it.

Also, I'm saltier than a cracker and muscles from all over the place are just feeling sore.

Maybe all the sun and salt will make me vulnerable to cannibal attack. Gotta be careful.

Moral of the story, if you find yourself in the hellishly boring suburbs of west-central Florida just drive to your destination. If you don't have a car bike. If you don't have a bike skate. Also don't gain a bunch of weight and then expect walking long distances to be the same.
