Topic: Let the merit related threads get deleted, strengthening the fight against spam. (Read 240 times)

Well, it can be automated, no problem with that, just wanted to speed up the process a bit, because if you want to automate something, it needs coding and that needs a lot of time.

To catch the attention of the forum staff, you can do nothing but express your opinion here and there and maybe they'll read it.

That's a lovely idea you got there, this way users can see other important discussion that don't involves merit this merit that. But don't agree with you on this one
I think it should be automated, beside manual reporting gives moderators much work and adding merit related topic to the list will only increase their workload.

One more questions, how do we direct out suggestions to the right authorities? How do we get their attention so they can put some thought into our ideas on better forum features?.

What if we open a sub-thread or whatever in Meta called 'Merit' and we should move all the Merit related topics to there. It should not be automated, I would be happy to report every single topic if the title contains the word: Merit....
Meta would be much better if this can be realized...

Precisely it would increase the moderators work! Besides the word merit defines as the quality of being particularly good or worthy (this taken from the dictionary) and should not be used to identify a spam thread.  Aside from that since it is automated then you have to made a system on it and incorporate that with this forum and making sure also that there will be no conflicts among the systems that are running already (Im not pretty sure on this, I am not an IT expert).

One thing about the OP that I like is his character and attitude for the initiative on imparting his ideas and knowledge for the forum.

New moderators could be appointed just to tackle this issue (reviewing of topic, the spam word is been mentioned in). Note: I said if the spam word is mentioned in topics not replies and based on the topic the word "merits" is been misused in, it is now becoming a spam. (My opinion though).
I believe if this system is implemented the spam level will reduced and it will make the work easier in terms of searching for spam posts by moderators to delete from forum and banned repeated users.

This idea would increase the moderators work, which is pretty high already.
And merit , in your example, is not a word related to spam.its an important forum feature that needs to be discussed at this moment.

I think it's hard to do. You can not stop others from mentioning a beautiful word like merit. We should only ban bad words. It's better to ban newbie posters on certain topics. This is probably what the management is doing. Now I see newbie no posting.

Before I go on, just want to clear the air that I'm not a software programmer neither do i have an idea on how my below suggestion is going to be done but I believe it can be done.

Since the introduction of the merit system, the forum discussion has turned towards merit related topics. Surfing through the forum you will discover that for every 10 topics you come across, you will find at least 2 merit related topics.
The below suggestion came to me as I was scrolling through an ico telegram group then noticed, if your comment has the bounty or airdrop word in them, they get deleted automatically. So i thought if the anti-spam method used by other forum and social site can be introduced into this forum it will help in the fight against Spam. E.g for every topic or body of topic that's contains the word "merit", the system automatically detect it as a spam and it goes under moderation to be approved by moderators of forum.
The method can also be used for other spam relates topics like "bitcoin vs gold" and the rest.

What's your opinion on this?.

PS: I believe I might not be the only one with this idea so if this idea has been suggested before and conclusions have been made let me know in reply and I will lock topic immediately.

Edited: These idea can also be used for other purposes too like instead of manual moving of post from one thread to another it can be done automatically by system. This user gets the idea
