It's a noble thought but deep inside many of us know that if politicians are so adamant not to pass anti-corruption laws , how much do they actually care about corruption problem. Still corruption free India is a dream and will be achieved sooner or later.

With bitcoin and next generation blockchain technolgy projects like ethereum, people are developing tools for democracy.

India could greatly benefit from these thechnologies..

Imagine government allots 50 btc as budget to build a bridge, and every one can track to what happens to that fund, a contract on ethereum can help solve trust issues between goverment and people.

So this is a golden opportunity, lets seize it!

A corrupt government official asks you for a bribe. You call the ACB, give the bribe to the official in the form of marked notes, and then the ACB conducts a raid. The fact that the government official is holding those notes is proof that he has accepted the bribe.

Now imagine, the official asks you to deposit bitcoins into a given address. The ACB would be powerless to prove that the address belongs to him. I would think bitcoin/blockchain might help corrupt officials, not just the common people. We would have to change the underlying value systems to get rid of corruption. There is only so much that technology can do.

Hmmm, your not taking into account that the official could have destroyed the notes, but not the transaction ID. Smiley

Agree that there is a record of the transaction, but it would be very difficult to link it to the government official.
This is another reason why I am bullish on bitcoin. Just like drug traffickers caused the price spike last time around, I expect usage by corrupt officials to result in another price spike.  Grin

Imagine this inevitable scenario happening in 2020, when Bitcoin price is 10,000 Dollar which I don't doubt iota. Most of the coins are already mined and held by people in developed countries reluctant to sell them considering it deflationary nature or assest class which would yield further benefit from holding.

But, Bitcoin is beautiful-transparent-money and to fight corruption, we need to use it. Its utility, infrastructure, brand value already is established. Thanks to early adapter who think themselves as futuristic tech-guys with responsibility to create change. Fuckin' fuck! They are not! They're node of network, stimulated-blinded by personal greed and limited knowledge in one domain.

Playing zerosum games is much easier when you know, something is common knowledge-Game Theory.

We buy this international-transparent-fiction-less fluid for its use in India. As when this revolution was talking place rather than deducing aftermath and effects, we nationalist-visionary Indians who dream of corruption free ideal society were busy' networking.'

So, how much pressure it would have created on local economy to create one bridge. 50BTC*$10,000=  $ 50,00,000 only + 3-4 times transaction fees earned my established mines out there drained to some other country.
I'm sure, we won't be building only one bridge. You can do the maths to have an estimate of pressure on economy.

Bulls eye!

But community is busy converting opportunity into monetary advantage with excuse of 'network effects' of which they themselves form integral part.
They don't understand- collectively, we're network in India. And further 'network effect' depends on us.

Choice is always ours! Now network.

Recently, I've heard Narendra Modi wokring on some kind of cloud computing for masses. Here, we 'network' must have worked to make them understand advantages/disadvantage of Metadisk and other application of decentralized innovation.

But, hum log tou vyast hai mawka bhunnjne mein. Haine? Grin

Amen to that
The community should try to validate the utility of blockchain technology at the unit level I.e at local community level and then try to scale it
