What real world issue are we going to solve with our coin?
The only thing that any new alt can solve right now is the personal financial issue of the dev  Grin

Using already existing algorithm will not do anything new, we need to build something from scratch with real life application. Every crypto cloned from another one are just forking their chain and shifting to different algo just  to survive this days.

For a digital currency to stand out  and also have daily usage :

No blockchain  so it is small and light
No Transfer fees
working wallet from the start
Decenteralized
Anon
codes from scratch

on top of the  above a dev team that not only understand coding but also understand business and already have projects that will help usage of the digital coin

i am sure one that ticks all the above will be on the exchangers very very soon Smiley

There was already like 5 BTT coins even with big community members but none of these coins ever succeded.
so it doesnt worth to waste your time

I didn't have an idea regarding this but the same thing that I'm going to say that whether we'll create a coin that is significant to the forum. Still there are a lot of coins already in the market and most of us will still stick to bitcoin. But there's a chance that whoever will be developing this coin, can had a lot of bucks.
But whats the purpose of the coin then? Why should we elaborate together on this project here? just to make a lot of moooonies to dev and thats all?  Grin
naah, its just worthless imo.

If seriously, ethereum exact clone with proof of stake instead of POW would be the bomb. Make ethereum PIVX, I would support it.

Thought experiment time kids.

So for the sake of hypothesis, I'm a programmer who can code in C#, Java and Python and I'm thinking of creating a coin. What features should our coin have? What should it be called? What language should we write it in? Should it be PoW, PoS, PoI or something else? How many coins should it have in total? Ico? Dev premine? What algo should we use? What real world issue are we going to solve with our coin?

i like this idea, block rewards based on the volume on exchange, if high lower reward if low, higher reward, or another idea is if miners are those that send transaction, basically if you send a transaction you receive a tiny % of all fee by sending your coins for each of your transaction sent

A coin designed by a comitee?

You could make pools where people give score of 1 to 10 to each choice, and you do based at the best voted one.

Something like:
Demurrage (yes or no)
PS:If demurrage wins (almost 100% sure it wont), you vote for the demurrage frequency and then vote again for the % (and then how rounding will work)

Max Coin limit (yes or no)
If  no max coin limit win, people vote at the max coin amount....

Proof of X
The thing has a huge list of proof of X and vote at them.

Coin distribution method (mining only, burning coins to get % of total coins, mine but coins can only be traded after all coins are mined....)
Transaction fee or not...

And this goes on and on.....

You seem to have a very good skill and can be considered as one of the most in-demand programmer in the market.

Why not try to sell out your skill to the companies instead of thinking this another coin that will just waste people's time and money.

I'm sorry about it but most of the time newly created coins are just being dumped.

That good to know that you interested to make a new coin.
Its good if you make a coin that have features like instant transaction , decentralized , adjustable transaction fee and easy to mine.
Good luck for creating a new coin. Wink
