They do a wise thing anyway – letting hackers to test their security. The article sums up that it’s a key for building a strong defense.

it is very good that they are finding the security problems now. they work on security until the coin itself is launched. it would be worse if they found out after the launch and after the first investment

I also found a reddit post here, some says that this recently found security flaw is not so important or not so alarming.
So how about the recently bug bounty($10,000 max reward) program that Libra announced?
Maybe some people already rewarded especially with this security flaw that seen.
Now for hackers there is the possibility of good money. They themselves can create vulnerabilities, and then point to them themselves. However, they will not do it, then others will do it, however, with a negative goal in advance.
In general, I doubt that Libra will ever be released, so much resistance it met the leading world states. However, let's see, there is not much time left for this.

How do you hack Libra when it doesn't even yet exist? And what's the point?
So it's likely that Libra source code has been found to be faulty.

So how about the recently bug bounty($10,000 max reward) program that Libra announced?
Maybe some people already rewarded especially with this security flaw that seen.
I think so and there's a division on how critical the bugs found are.

$500 - low

$1000 - medium

$1500 - high

$10000 - critical

So libra project got hacked before launch? this is nit a good news at all, it would have been a different story if libra team are the one that give hackers trial to hack libra but this is not the case which means libra is a failed project and its really so embarrassing for facebook

Well, at least we know how the cryptocurrency community is watching the Libra project like a hawk. It is a bug in the beta code and not a hack. Maybe we will know more about its resilience when the network goes live.

The exploit allowed for text that appeared to be harmless inline comments, to be executed as code.

Whenever I see something like this, I think of this XKCD strip:

I think it is better for the OP to put the right Title, Libra is not on for public usage already so it was not hacked, good a bug was detected and this is the reason why there was a bug bounty, do you think the Libra team is the developers we have in this space that release buggy codes to the wild and hackers will later have fill day.

A security hole was discovered in Facebook’s soon-to-launch crypto-currency, the ‘Libra’.
The exploit allowed for text that appeared to be harmless inline comments, to be executed as code. The firm provided some examples of how a bad actor could use this vulnerability, including…

By the way, how could be happen that Libra has been hack despite of this project is not starting yet?
When I also read the articles, I never see that Libra has been hack, but if I am not mistaken there is only
bug in the code not hack like what you are trying to emphasize here.

I think this does not mean anything until the project has started. However, it’s good that this security hole was found now, and not after launch.

How do you hack Libra when it doesn't even yet exist? And what's the point?

If I was a hacker and I found a way in I would just leave all my code in there sleeping, and slowly get inside bigger and bigger and when it launches, wait and get a lot of data from millions of users and then steal it all.

That's not a hack. They just found a bug in the code.

I don't see big news here. It is not even released yet. This is just a clickbait article to get your clicks.

User data leak in their social media platforms that happened in the past made me lose interest in Libra and this security vulnerability caused me to doubt this project. I hope that there are no users or investors of Libra who lose or are disappointed at the time of its release.
