Update

- a pack of tooltips on node page for those who are just starting to learn about lightning network
- graphs: live/all time capacity, live/all/time channels, live nodes
- fixed the problem with empty node aliases

A few updates:

- pagination for big lists (especially on the history of node)
- night mode
- graphs for total amount of nodes and nodes state change: https://lightblock.me/lightning-network-stats/graphs/nodes-total The nodes state change graph shows how many nodes were changing their state from active to inactive and vice versa
- new sorting: you can now check the most uptime and downtime nodes
Please note that we have started to log the changes of node state in December, so we don't know how long the older nodes have been online/offline before that, so you will notice some discrepancy for older nodes. We have not found a turnaround how to calculate that yet.

Great progress!
Please, add clickable radio buttons and small descriptions.
+ Pagination for big lists.
+ Filters.
+ Clickable "Nodes GEO" graph -> list names of all nodes from the country.

First off, your site is very neat, navigable, and has everything I need from a Lightning explorer. I tested this with the Bitrefill Lightning node, and the information seems nearly correct except for the issue that things aren't being analyzed in real time, which is a minor drawback compared to everything else on the site. I typically don't use Geolocation for nodes, but it's something neat to look at. Good touch!

Second, what sources do you use to calculate the fiat pricing of coins? You don't have anything like a FAQ on the site that explains this, and this is something typically listed on most block explorers. It's always interesting to me and also somewhat important that sites use a reputable source to base prices off of.

Yes, I plan to setup a FAQ page.

Currently we use Coindesk price index in order to calculate the FIAT value.

No, currently it is not real time. In future we plan to implement a socket which will let you analyze in real time. The lightning network itself is being updated continuously,  it is live.

The private node is the one which has chosen not to broadcast its IP outside. Actually, we will make a few tweaks to explicitly show whether the node is public or not, and show the closed channels as well.

Upd. Nodes GEO stats has been added: https://lightblock.me/lightning-network-stats/countries-chart

Thanks for your response! Yeah, the value of the information would be much, much higher just be enabling real-time (or at least minutes of delay) information.

Really would like info on closed channels - duration they were open and amount (I don't suppose they'll show volume as well?)

GEO chart = awesome! Just strange I didn't find any private nodes listed. As suspected, not much Chinese support for Lightning (those 5 could even be from Hong Kong and Taiwan otherwise), equal to the nodes from Singapore in fact. A few other surprises... and almost half in N America alone. Five dropped out too.

We have already started to indicate whether the channel is active or closed (it can have some minor glitches though, working on it). We have also added the "channel age".

Nice work Smiley
look great...

I do have one question tough: i was looking up my own node:

https://lightblock.me/lightning-node/03301e633b25d769377bf75ce6b6ed2ec570270bc06c8c02bf33c5bd2aa47da098

It seems the stats are a bit off, my node has been running for way more than a month (iirc)

Thanks =)

The point regarding stats is a good one. We have launched the explorer around one month ago, so we have the data since that point only. Lightning network gives you a current state, it is up to you how you handle it further.

We have a separate task to accumulate the data before the launch and merge it into what we have already, so you will be able to have the complete history since inception.

Wait, so the stats don't update in real time then? Only when you update manually, or what exactly did you mean. Checked the explorer out and hey it's a first go so well done. Curious to learn how you might update, or verify changes made off chain. Like mocca's node, it should have updated when he closed channel or?

Stupid question here but explorer shows public nodes... How would a node be private and how does that look like?

What about adding a few charts as blockchain.com explorer has? channels and nodes by capacity. The site is clean and straight to the point but  you should give it another design, or at least to change the color header

Lightning node: FederalReserve https://lightblock.me/lightning-node/0327049d8d63f0c40193cdf3afc61817c8647808a4e482de0716fcef74e6d92ebf

This is a step to the mass adoption Cheesy

Yeah, I really like some of the nodes' aliases  Smiley

Charts is already a part of "comprehensive stats" task. The new design is planned after the core new features are implemented.
I have noted regarding the header color change.

Thanks for feedback.

Hi,

I have launched an explorer for lightning network mainnet (supporting only Bitcoin at the moment): http://lightblock.me

A few things that you can do already:

- search nodes
- check nodes' connection info, parameters, history
- browse through channels
- view capacities in FIAT equivalent (currently supporting 4 currencies)

A few things which are also planned:

- Litecoin support
- comprehensive stats
- channels' history
- channels' search

If you have any suggestions/critics, feel free to let know.
