I was looking to do this same thing a year or two ago, at the time Bitcoin wasn't considered a legitimate currency, so it wasn't technically selling it. I don't know what the laws regarding it now are, but thats assuming it is even a problem if 1) you are in the U.S, and 2) It isn't farm raised deer (which can be legally sold)

I'd hope that you don't hunt unethically, but as far as the poaching allegation, thats a bit absurd at this point. The OP said:

Well i recently came across a good bit of deer meat, and im wondering if anyone is interested in some cheap deliciously dehydrated deer jerky.

They didn't say, I have as much deer as you want on demand, although some states (assuming you are in the U.S) don't have limits on how many deer you can shoot per year. I'd hope that the OP doesn't poison anyone, but there really isn't enough evidence to claim any wrongdoing at this point.

Bah..
People regularly sell child pornography and drugs for btc (and fiat, of course) , i thought that OP just happened to be an hunter and hunted a deer and wanted to try to sell the results of his work for bitcoins. It's a good thing imo. He was not settling up a business, just an occasional friendly transaction.
In many places wild animals are a problem for the ecosystem, i.e. here in italy the govern will pay you a small amount of money for each killed wildboar in certain places and seasons (otherwise the game-keepers have to kill them by themself).
I've never tried deer jerky and never bought a physical good for btc, and i want to try it. Never thought i have to switch to the darknet to do so...

I am a hunter myself and I we eat everything I get.  Although since my injury it has been rare that I can hunt.  We live in rural in the woods by my in-laws farm and we are constantly having to report and run off poachers.  It's crazy that some people just kill to kill.  Maybe take horns and leave the rest of the deer.  It's sad and unethical.

That's why I asked where it was harvested and such.
There are lots of sales from individuals on ebay for venison and other wild game jerky.  It's difficult to know what is legit and what is not.

Thanks for the input on Ebay sales. I will be going on there next and reporting any illegal ads.  Like i said before Necessity is one thing For profit is another.

Praise the Lord we have a Bitcoin Game Warden on these forums and Ebay. Catchin' all you poachers!
If everyone had the same mentality as you the world would be void of all living creatures.

I edited it before you posted.
And your post is absolutely meaningless to this whole thing. It only proves you have talent for being a smart ass.  It has no Relevant content

Okay, relevant time then.

  • He is gauging interest, you most likely deterred him. Good Job, +1 vigilante
  • People are not always from the USA
  • Do something useful with your time, other then reporting people when it may or may not be reportable.
  • He is looking to "hook you up" not charge you 1 BTC a LB. or make a killing
  • Maybe his family doesn't like jerky, he came across it, he didn't say he hunted it.

Relevance completed.

Depends, where are you located and where were the deer harvested?
I did not make any myself this year and have been wanting some?
What is your pricing?

Well i recently came across a good bit of deer meat, and im wondering if anyone is interested in some cheap deliciously dehydrated deer jerky.

Will hook anyone up who wants some, just trying to gauge interest before i get ahead of myself by posting prices.

Will post pictures of the meat and the final product tomorrow afternoon.

Meat barely dehydrated

Donations will be greatly accepted, apparently we got some cry babies on the forum, but no worries there is always a way around things.

Update:So after speaking to a few friends who are privy to this sort of situation we have realized that i can avoid any legal risk by simply giving the jerk away for free, but charging for shipping.  Wink Wink

Thank you guys for your support so early out the gate, i surely did not expect this sort of response but im more than pleased with the result thus far. Again thank you and ill try to keep the jerky coming.
