I don't care what gateway you use (or do you use any gateway at all) as long as I get a bitcoin address to send and your delivery is reasonably quick. That is: instant (before any confirmations) for low value transactions and for services that can be easily turned off without harm to the seller if the payment will bounce (e.g. one month subscription which you can turn back off if the payment won't be confirmed within hours or if customer doublespends); max 3 confirmations for mid-value transactions for goods/services that cannot be easily reverted.

That is, I never purchased anything of high value using bitcoin-fiat gateway, so gateway reputation didn't come to play. If I were to send significant amount of money that way, I'd like either to use a reputable gateway and/or to get a clear statement from you that as soon as I send bitcoins to specified address I am good and you are responsible for any gateway problems (i.e. you will honour my payment even if the gateways will screw us over - the gateway is your business partner, not mine).

The revolution will be monetized!
I does not matter to me. I normally send from my client without much thought about what shopping cart software is involved. I have been assuming that a service like bitpay caters more to the needs of the seller's business than the purchaser. A service that helps them use bitcoin without requiring a great understanding of the technology.

This could however be an issue for me if I had little trust in the seller. In that case I might prefer a gateway that offers some kind of escrow or process to minimize the risk of fraud.

Does that help?

Not All Clouds Are The Same
Question for the room.

We have been accepting Bitcoin payments for over a year, Any person that has purchased something on the web using Bitcoin has most likely used a payment gateway of some type, bitpay, coinbase, mtgox all offer merchant type gateway solutions.

Does it matter to the end user what service they are using? Do you have a preferred method of payment when using Bitcoins?

We are wondering if its better to offer multiple gateways via Bitcoin or if it even matters to most people shopping.
