In october, it will moon (they will present a live transaction in SIBOS's conference) ChainLink will be VERY useful for insurance, brokers, bankers, import/export, etc. They can be a Ripple killer, not because the ChainLink's team focus on it, but because the technology behind it can replace what ripple give to the bank. When you let company likes SWIFT for example or any other future parthenship to use this oracle, their partner can focus on how to be bigger on their respective branch and at the same time, ChainLink becomes more stronger. Swift is the first, has a lot of credibility and implement the second phase on their own swift smart oracle. Do your research but except a small team (like google/apple/microsoft/facebook... were) and lack of communication (they will pay more staff for this problem) They are a really solid project

What I can say is I bought XRP when I was new then dumped it when I got educated a bit. I now own LINK, nuff said.

Ripple is quite unique at how its infastructure can benefit organizations. I think that it'd be hard for any upcoming cryptocurrency to top that. Head on competition would likely have cryptos like link hurt because Ripple already has a bigger following and better infrastructure.
