Probably need to reinstall the drivers. I had to do this once before I followed http://askubuntu.com/questions/124292/what-is-the-correct-way-to-install-ati-catalyst-video-drivers-fglrx/129200#129200 with success.

Using a headless Ubuntu 12.04 with SSH from a Win7 machine, I've successfully had two Radeon 7990 cards running for a while. Then i added a 3rd 7990 card and now things got out of hand.

I've been trying several things for a couple of days but I'm at a loss.
Right after I added the 3de card I could still run cgminer (3.7.2 for scrypt mining). It worked for my 4 old GPUs but didn't show their "name", temperature and RPM.
cgminer hinted me toward a missmatch between xorg and something else. That led me to try to reinstall fglrx and create a new xorg.conf file.
So I've tried that but to no avail. As of right now, cgminer won't even start properly.

I get this error message when running "Xorg -configure":
Code:
...
(II) [KMS] drm report modesetting isn't supported.
(II) [KMS] drm report modesetting isn't supported.
Number of created screens does not match number of detected devices

When I try any "aticonfig" command I get this:
Code:
aticonfig: no supported adapters detected

Other information that might be usefull?

"lspci | grep VGA" gives me:
Code:
03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Malta [Radeon HD 7990]
07:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Malta [Radeon HD 7990]
0d:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Malta [Radeon HD 7990]

"fglrxinfo" gives me this error:
Code:
Error: unable to open display (null)

"cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf"
Here's the xorg.conf file.

I'm really not very good with Linux yet, so most of the fixes I've tried so far after searching askubuntu etc. has made more questions then answers I'm afraid.
Up to this point I've had great help from cryptobadger's guides, but now I'm in the dark.

Anyone able to give me some help on getting this 3rd card up and running?
