I've reinstalled LinuxCoin on my flashdrive 3 different times. It didn't help. Any other suggestions?

Did you create the persistence file ?

Thanks for trying to help. Cheesy

It was my understanding the newest version of unetbootin installed the persistence file along with LinuxCoin. I specified a 1024MB persistence in the appropriate field.

Am I wrong? If so, your reply is probably my solution.

Please someone help me troubleshoot this issue.

I experienced this exact same problem after doing a bunch of experimental "sudo aticonfig"ing ...

The only fix I know of is to reinstall the OS and persistence file on your usb drive and start from scratch.  Hopefully you don't have much BTC in your wallet on that usb drive... if you do, find another linux box and maybe copy the wallet file onto there.

I lost 0.05BTC because of this situation.  :-(

I had the same issue all the way through, I just switched to Ubuntu 11.4 and did it all manually.

Reinstalling results in the same thing. It stops at the screen telling me I can type "help" for a list of commands. It's probably my BIOS settings as I don't believe it's the installation. So do you know of any BIOS settings that would interfere with LinuxCoin?

From what I can see it's struggling to find the persistent media or filesystem. That would suggest that the ISO or install is corrupt. How did you install ? Can you burn & boot from a CD/DVD ? Your MD5 is correct.
I used unetbootin-windows-555.exe.

I cannot burn and boot from any other media. I don't have any of it with me currently. Sad

I'm going to try and reinstall linuxcoin following your youtube video to the "T".

I did some hardcore googlin' and I figured out how to get a MD5 Checksum. The Checksum for the ISO that I installed onto the USB drive is 7999F02BFE7085100B48C5534ADD62D7.

Is that correct?

Did you check the md5 of your download ? Looks like a corrupt ISO.
Tell me how to do that please. This is my second brand new install if LinuxCoin.

Okay, so I got the computer naked, telling me all of its secrets. Tongue

It paused at this position for about a whole minute.

Then some code flashed across the screen for about 30 seconds. And I mean some matrix shit was going on. My computer was dodging creeper explosions and falcon punches left and right.

Then I arrived at this screen. It allowed to punch some well known commands onto the screen.(e.g. fuck you, boot!) I was completely astonished that these commands produced some errors.

Hey guys, I need help(for the third time this week, a record perhaps?).

So I've got linuxcoin installed on my USB drive. Now I just need to boot the damn thing. Simple, no? WRONG!

Whenever I boot from the USB the computer just sits at the loading screen with the infinity sign. The infinity sign just moves around forever. I left it sit for 10 minutes once.

This is what I stare at for 10 minutes.

Any help would be appreciated! Get your fellow miner up and running! Or not, keep your precious difficulty level low. Tongue
