Since I haven't found a post on this topic yet, I'd like to make a new suggestion.
How about the implementation/connection of www.deepl.com?

https://www.deepl.com/pro#developer
https://www.deepl.com/en/docs-api/

The possibility exists and since the main language in the forum is English, this would be a great opportunity.
I think a lot of people already use this service and maybe we can find a way to simplify the process. 1:1 translator
usage is always problematic, but for checking or helping with texts from people who are no native speakers this could be helpful.

I would like to suggest some non-standard features (I saw them seldomly or never in other forum software). I also have suggested them for Bitcointalk some months ago, but I think suggesting them for Epochtalk would make more sense if it's really slowly nearing completion. I have admittedly no idea how hard it would be to implement them:

1) The possibility to ignore complete threads. This would mean that the ignored threads should not show up anymore when I visit a sub-forum. This would make spam megathreads which pop up every day much less annoying, and forums like "Bitcoin Discussion" could actually become readable again. It would not mean that all users posting in the thread would be ignored - only the thread itself.

2) A personalized post stream for watched threads. Alternatively to having a watch list where I get listed threads with new posts, but I still must click on the thread to see these posts, I would like to see the new posts directly in this "stream". This way, I can see directly if the thread is worth clicking on it or the new post is a low-quality post so I don't even bother.

There's already a mobile version implemented.
You can test it at the https://coinbistro.com/
This is a Epochtalk installation with the latest updates, administered by Cyrus and his team, so i can say it's a safe site to play with.

I hope that you, like me, when you are not at home or in the office, often use this forum on your smartphone using your mobile browser. Therefore, I want to ask if you would like to receive the official mobile version or application.

You won't notice any difference when viewing bitcointalk from a computer, but you will see a difference when viewing from a phone or ipad. On a smartphone, the site is loaded in the form in which it is now, but often you need to zoom in as there are areas that cannot be readable. Horizontal scrolling, off-screen content are just some of the viewing issues.

The bitcointalk mobile app will be a really great solution to increase traffic and attract more people. If theymos releases an official app, I'll be happy to install it and use it if there is no PC access. In the meantime, there is no official app on the forum, I would not want to risk my account by downloading third-party app.

I am not suggesting that it will be easy to implement, but I believe it will revive the forum a bit, given that I hear more and more talk lately about the fact that life on the forum is dying.

I've been looking forward to have us all a fresh start.

I know what you mean but might be a lot of IFs there.
Nuked accounts with left feedback (good or bad) and also lots of newbie accounts with 1 post. What to do with them ?
IMO I would keep them all, even proxy banned...
They are a metric in the life of this forum and would be a pity to erase them all together. At least in my opinion ...
A metric that can be easily accessed on Epochtalk by API Smiley

Conceptually, all the data (accounts, threads, posts, trust, merits, PMs, etc.) should be migrated. Banned accounts should probably be migrated in order to preserve the post history of those that have one. The same applies to inactive accounts. My only doubt would be for accounts that have 0 posts (be it as a result of being nuked or not) and have been inactive for a longish amount of time (which are a heck of a lot – when I looked back in 2018, there were 968K Newbie accounts created before 2018 that had been inactive during 2018).

🤩Finally Married🤩
Errr... It just happened that it came to my mind.
From what I know, the DATAs will be transfered from Bitcointalk to Epochtalk right? Shouldn't we filter our the accounts that has been deleted, inactive, banned and other stuffs?

I would like to see how many of us will remain standing to the new Forum when the time comes. I've been looking forward to have us all a fresh start.

I understand why someone would propose this, but does not seem to be the correct approach in it's current format.
I honestly doubt a pay-per-PM module would be accepted.
The second best thing I can think of is "Receive PM ONLY from trusted users". And based on each user's trust depth the userbase would be smaller or larger. Also keeping the current "restrict PM from newbies" option.

People tend to come with different ideas and suggestion what new features they would like to see in the new forum.
We are faaaar from seeing the Epochtalk final release soon, but anyway during the process, it won't hurt if we list what we think will be useful to have.
Let's start :

Adding a Paywall option for personal messages by OgNasty.

...........
Will update the format soon.
