A great way to track the activity of projects that are on the github. After all, the main criterion for the success of the project is how actively the team is working on its implementation, as well as how much time it releases announcements and updates. As soon as this stops the project very quickly goes to one. I recommend that all newcomers use the guide hub to track projects of interest to them.

I think cardano was one of the leading ones as well that is missing in this list. That is why I actually bought ADA for the first time when I bought it because there was a whole team of developers working on it constantly and they broke the "consecutive days of commits" in github for any cryptocurrency project when they first came out so that was a great deal.

Others are awesome too, I do have waves right now and I did had ARK too and I am not sure about deeponion one but I am sure that will be decent as well if they care about it enough. I do not think any project that has above 16k commits could ever be a scam, it could be a failed project if they are not good at what they do but I don't think they will be fraud.

Indeed Cardano ADA is a good one too, added to the list now.

I don't get, so any project that doesn't reveal it's GitHub link to the public are all scam? Or simply have something big to hide? What is the best way of finding GitHub of projects?

As I said, there are projects that operate differently. Bitcoin and Monero are opensource projects. All their code is fully available fro everyone to see or copy. Then there are companies that usually crowdfunded money through ICO. And gave tokens or coins for that founds. Many of those companies keep their code private.

Deeponion looks very active but the majority of people were calling it as scam project. I may understand if from there I will not try to take github commit from the developers as a factor to determine how good the project.
DeepOnion was made from a scratch and that's why they call it scam. I understand their point of view and tagging as scammer but to be honest, they are trying their best now to be an unique and useful coin. Github can't guarantee anything but it certainly a factor to consider when you are looking for a good coin.

Indeed, the DeepOnion developers are focused on bringing many features now and the community keeps supporting them. They value privacy before anything.

They look very active in the github but it's not straight with their product. ARK's product is also not so good as my speculation in the past. thank you so much for this.

Best way to compare development activity is coingecko https://www.coingecko.com/en?view=developer
They also have social media activity of all coins. But you always need o be cautious when you compare, since development of coins is happening differently. Best is to take very long periods of time.

Yes, this is what I also looked when trying to find out projects activity and stuff.

Obviously, there's a lot of activity in the top 10 -20 coins because they wanted to stay on that position by updating and listening to their community and they also need to upgrade otherwise there might be competition that will kick them out on the top spot.

As for the projects that OP has posted, I'm also familiar with some of them, specially, AETERNITY, ARK, DeepOnion (who would forget their airdrops on 2017? I think they started the craze, LOL) and Digibyte DGB.

That's a good one, we can see not just commits but code changes in the last week.

Here is a list of active projects and you can track their software development by seeing commits and other activities at each of their Github profiles
Important and serious crypto projects they have their GitHub code source, so you can see how active they are.
If there are some projects on CMC not showing their Github profiles or their commits are too small that is a good sign if you want to trust or not to that specific project.
