RX 4xx is out of production, and the small remaining stock is generally getting crazy gouge pricing.
RX 5xx is not getting ramped up enough to support the demand, leading to gouge pricing as well.

IMO if you're going to use Afterburner at all, set your cards with a fan profile not just a fixed fan.
I usually use a more-or-less straight line from 30% at around 40C to 100% at 75 or 80 C (depending on the specific card model).

That saves fan wear and tear when you don't NEED the extra cooling, but the cooling is THERE when you do need it.

At CURRENT pricing on RX 470/480/570/580, NVidia is killing AMD pretty much across the board - it's pretty sad when major retailers like NewEgg are often charging MORE for a RX 470/480/570/580 than for some GTX 1080 models and quite a bit MORE than for most GTX 1070 models - when they have AMD RX cards to sell at ALL better than the 460/560.

if anyone got better results on lower  power consumption cards just hint and i will update the list

Thanks I will read it.

 with a nvidia 1070
I can do 430sol  use about 125 watts

with a nvidia 1080 ti
I can do 600 sol  use about 155 watts

the nvidia   can use msi afterburner

set power at 60%
set core at 100
set memory at 300
set fans at 75% manual

all of them
 the 1080 ti
 the 1080
 the 1070
 the 1060

All are better for zec then  any amd. in terms of watt to hash ratios.  no need to flash  but they are not cheap.  it is a tradeoff as to use amd or nvidia   Lots of space for your gear and lots of cheap power amd are better.   Space is tight  and your power cost more then 12 cents per watt the  nvidia are better.
For ether, is the best card for the price still the rx470 and 480. We want to build more rigs now and want to know what card to use. Thanks

the best gpu  that I have known for alt mining is the nvidia 1080ti gpu, yes it is costly but the specs and the power that they can be do is enough to earn big, other said that they more prefer to use rx580 , they will create a mining rig having atleast 3-5 gpu in one computer and having many cooling system on it. they will earn as much as 10$ per day I think. both have a high performance.

Nice to see you ranked my favorite card (MSI 470) as #1.  I completely agree... tried a few others but ended up selling them and now running a full 4 rigs of 24x MSI 470 dual mining ETH + DCR.  It's a great set up and super easy to mod the bios on those cards! Never had an issue with any of them, other than just 1 that i can't overclock more than 1850 mhz but I will gladly take that overall success rate! They run cool and quiet and also look amazing! Can't beat them in my book if your are doing anything other than ZEC mining. The sad thing is that now they are almost all gone (at least new ones). Nearly impossible to find online for anything close to retail. A few B&M stores have a few left but sadly, none are within driving distance. I guess I am have pretty much tapped out my house capacity wise anyway, so maybe it's good they are almost gone so as to avoid tempting me to build more rigs lol.

@Philip

What software miner are you using for ZEC on Nvidia?

Also when you say, "Set core to 100, set memory to 300" is that percent?

I have no Nvidia cards currently mining however I did just purchase another RX 480 to replace an Nvidia 970 for a graphic workstation (adobe cc stuff) that I use, so the 970 will be available for whatever.  I was contemplating selling it but if it could be worthwhile to put it to use mining ZEC I might go for it.

The liquid cooled AMD R9 295 X2 can do ~65 - 70 MH/s each but use 300W. If you can pick up used cards for ~$350 and have good electric rates, they are another option to expensive Nvidia 10 series cards for space limited rigs.
