I won't mind this kinds of list is being made as long as the merit source is the one who is asking for that list. Simply creating a list of your own looks like you are just begging merits for other people, but if a merit source says so in order to help him improve his way of distributing merits I think what you will do is both in favor for him and the ones who will receive the merits that are included in your list. To me personally creating yourself a list without a merit source backing you up would simply waste your time as people rarely givers their sMerits away especially to random posts a random member have recommended to be merited.

The problem with these threads is not so much the concept, but the fact that the merit topic has been done to death, and many such threads are just thinly concealed begging threads. I actually took you off ignore as I'm having a good day, but that shouldn't really be a factor, should it?

It might be worth you locking the thread before the spammers start to hit it.

Hi, I am very sorry if I made a mistake. It is not my intention.
You didn't make a mistake, nor should you hang your head in shame and keep apologizing for making this thread, but this has been suggested before and you would have known that had you read Meta threads consistently.

Scammers are going to start contacting you...
Sounds like they've already contacted him.

Thanks and God bless you..

It is not a good idea to announce you are gullible on this forum.  Scammers are going to start contacting you...

NO, and if you read the boards you will have seen that most members think of them as clutter. Most of the links tend to be to crap posts anyway.

I put you on ignore for not reading the forum threads or using the search function.

Hi, I am very sorry if I made a mistake. It is not my intention. Actually I, did used the search function for "list of merit worthy posts" before I posted this question but I didn't find any. How may you forgive me? Thanks and God bless you..

This is a potentially good idea, however it might just lead to a lot of users spamming for their alts to gain merits.

Although, one thread with one legitimate/accurate post in 20 is probably worth making to see if we can distribute merits a bit. I'd suggest limiting people to 5 posts to nominate per week or something to avoid having a huge backlog. And that posts should be quoted (and not just links to them being posted).

Hi, thank you for enlightening me and giving a nice suggestion. But, it appears that I should not have made an inquiry here according to Jet Cash. I'm very sorry for troubling you. Thanks and Godbless!
P.S. Thanks also to others who replied. 😊

Hi guys, is it allowed to create a thread for posting links of merit worthy posts? I'm sure most of us in our day to day use of bitcointalk forum, we encounter high quality posts but some of them are not recognized and rewarded because either the one who found it is not capable of giving merit or he/she has limited amount of merits to give. Also, some of high quality posts are not recognized or unnoticed because of flooding replies/posts/comments from other members.

The thread I am thinking is to be used only for nominating merit worthy posts. Anyone can nominate but must not be their own to prevent being bias.

The thread would be very much helpful to those who deserved but unnoticed and also to those who are giver of merits.

Hi there!!
Well, there are already been some attempts at doing things like that. Even though it doesn`t seem to harm, to be honest, everyone in here has a different mind and different preferences when giving merits, so this is proved to be useless.
Just think about what you consider a meritable post, not everyone is going to agree with you, and, if more threads like the suggested appear, this is going only to pollute the forum.
If you consider a post to be meritable, then I suggest for you to add this one to your watchlist if you don`t have any smerit to give or to merit it, that`s all.

You think someone with merit who does not have the time to merit posts on the forum will bother reading such a thread. Do not take it otherwise but if you think about it with practically, you will start feeling like closing this thread. Smiley
