i lost 1.8 BTC, ~110 ETH, and ~70 LTC. aside from that just a bunch of crap coins

so roughly 2775$ not fun. not fun at all.

i thought they were more secure then the other exchanges for some reason. i was able to pull most my good shit out. but couldn't pull the ETH anywhere. and i couldn't access my btc and ltc (and a few others but i didnt have much in those.

Edit: these are all really low estimates. i probably lost a lot more then this. but this i know for sure i lost and i wont claim more then i feel i should. everyone lost a lot

I didn't lose much. Not more than a couple of cents. Cryptsy looked pretty promising until they suddenly started with all these weird plans to do different things at once.

Got 1.4BTC out two days before the fall  Grin

I still got my 0.00014 in there ;~;

I also managed get all out of cryptsy but at the end I lost match as many who where holding "shit" alt coins which some/most get even more worthless after the cryptsy downfall

So even if I had lost nothing in coins, I had to dump them for other lose there, then some had no other exchange and are by now dead

Sure worthless coins should die, but with coins you also lose ppl that were investing in them, at the and we all lost

Do you think that they really will be true to their promises and return the bitcoins? (In case you haven't seen it yet: https://www.cryptsy.com/cryptsyrecoverybountyfinal.pdf )

The owners of a Paycoin "Prime Controller" digital scam machine?

Well, they've been 0% honest at least since the alleged 2014 Lucky7Coin hack, so........

NO.

It is good to always withdraw your coins from an exchange. As the name suggests, it is an exchange but not a storage wallet. You should only put your coins for exchange purposes. Once you are through, you withdraw to your storage wallet.

It looks like they abandoned everything. The blog hasn't been updated for 16 days.

Let's prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

They seldom update their blog or twitter even before they announced they got hacked. It is not too unusual.

I would say that the combined value of all the altcoins i had there might be something like 0.01 BTC. I was one of the lucky ones who managed to pull out pretty much all coins i had there (i have to say i had to make a few unfavorable trades to do it but in the end pulling out 90% is still better than getting nothing at all). I know however quite a few guys who did not get their coins out in time, most of it was BTC and LTC so the chance for them to get the coins is slim to say the least.

Really? It seems they acted negligently in a way that is unacceptable. When dealing with clients funds, you need to do what you can to protect those funds.

As system admin i blame Cryptsy, i deal daily with hackers and if I do not protect the environment I lose my job, same applies for them. If you don't know to do your job do something else....

12000 btc and 300000 ltc

that's the real info.

12ooo Bitcoin
3ook LTC
DASH ... imagine 25%
Doge .... at least 20%
NXT, Ripple, all had big Cry markets
(not to mention how many BTC where on deposit to provide price support so 12K btc might be much more)

+50 locked up coins ... so there was no escape for them.

UNO community saw the problem and were able to turn 20% of the supply into 7%.

XPY is totally crushed I would guess +40% of the coins are in Verns hands.

I've been out of crypto for around a year and forgot I had some scraps left on Cryptsy, so probably lost about 30% using overpriced alts to escape... or a mighty .15ish btc.
