The first thing I will like to ask is what is the relevance of your coin, if your coin targeted at solving a major problem or providing something reasonable. i dont think you should be worried about been listed on just on an exchange alone. UNISWAP is very good, you we all know that is how they operate. To provide a liquidity you have to provide the equivalent of the coin you are listing. I think was better that way so that they will be able to control both your coin and the whole volume.

Any advice for someone wanting to list their new token on Uniswap? It just seems impossible as you need to deposit the same value in ETH, so if I wanted to list 10000 of my tokens at $1 each, I’d need to also deposit $10000 ETH.

You mean to say 1:1 ratio, if anyone who are planning to list their coin at Uniswap? if that is their really rules we have nothing to do it but follows their policy. This maybe one of the reason why all of a sudden the price of UNI got spike its value in the market so fast. This is the first time I discovered that UNI have this kind of rules if ever this is true.

What's the name of your token?
What concerns you about the token name ? will you list them directly to uniswap?

he is asking how it works so just give your answer directly.

Providing liquidity for your currency to trade smoothly on Uniswap is also a way to keep the project value. The way UNISWAP works will be against fraudulent projects that are manipulated on centralized exchanges.
All coins require a real volume of buyers. I noticed that there are still transaction BOTs on UNISWAP, which is bad because they pay too high a fee for each of their transactions.

Just think how people will find your token? If they don't know about your token. First your token must have some beneficial features so people will buy it it, but if you only add liquidity and did not do any promotion about your token than you will have no profit of your token.

Well technically you can do that and that"s how uniswap works but as advice i will recommend you not to put all your tokens . Put a fraction of your tokens and keep the rest for future . I think this might be a good decision as a holder.

Well,,, I would say if you want to list 10,000 tokens, you ought to be able to deposit the same amount. Otherwise anyone could make up tokens and randomly list them and Uniswap would just be overburdened with worthless coins.

All the bad moves by teams? Expect it,,, human nature;)

Actually this Same Value of deposits makes Uniswap Moves up recently , Last year Uniswap becomes one of the highest Gaining Project/exchange in 2020 with really unexpected growth.

But many thread that oi crossed here in forum questioning about the Security , what If there is hacking ? who will carry the burden ?

and the saddest part is What If the Team itself do the bad moves? like Inside Job hacking ? or "Hack Me" in layman's term?(i'm not saying that they will do this but what if?)

Lets be practical and also theoretical because this s really a Huge amount that we are  vesting on that platform.

The total supply is not necessarily the value of the tokens you want to list on the uniswap. however, if you don't have the experience to do it.
Try it in a buffer with pool and supply must be calculated in detail.

Depositing all of your tokens for listing will not be a wise decision. You can use some percentages of your tokens and yes the liquidity must have to be the same in ratio. If you use all of your tokens for listing and your token doesn't have any beneficial features then there might be not enough investors to buy your token, it's risky. This is my opinion now all decisions is yours.

On Uniswap, Do you know what happens to the price of the token when all of its initial amount gets bought? So if a startup puts on 100 of their token at $100 ether value total and it all gets bought, would that mean the pool now has 0 tokens and $200 ether value? What happens?

The pool will have 0 liquidity in token form and then as the tokens already bought use ethereum and the remaining amount will be in ethervalue. The liquidity for token will become zero and the liquidity pool for ethereum will have $100 worth of ethereum.
It's a simple explanation about that and im always using uniswap.

On UniSwap and any pool like that price depends on how many coins you want to buy. If you want to buy all coins from pool price will go almost to infinity (constant product rule). If you have Tron wallet you can check it on JustSwap (clone of uni) for TOFU token:

https://justswap.org/?lang=en-US#/scan/detail/trx/TTgnhmov3ezeUGxnfDdjvDt4WhNXDUD3bT

Click trade, put amount close to all current supply of TOFU in the pool and you will see that price is going to be thousands of TRX per TOFU instead of 6.83 TRX if you buy only one TOFU.

You can check that the same applies for UniSwap on their website.

you only deposit it and they dont say that it was a payment ?

if you can afford it try depo it because you can still withdrew the eth later or if you cant afford it and if its possible to list few coins you can try that too .

uniswap works different unlike to other exchange that ask high fees for listing but i like that more because they are helping to eliminate scam coins .

This could not prevent scam, but it will lessen the scam. Anyone could create new ERC20 tokens in their laptop. Make paid advertisements, promote your coin. List it to UNISWAP. Create noise, shill your coin. Wait people to buy your coin. Wait for your coin to sky rocket. Then create a massive dump.

But if theres backup money. Mafias will think twice to push their scam project.

Technically, I'm not the best person to answer that. But just to give an idea, it's always the law of supply and demand. If it all gets bought then the price would increase. You can also ask these questions on their sub reddit.

I’m not launching a token, I’m just trying to understand Uniswap and how a startup could launch their token without a ton of ether. It seems the best option would be to start small such as 100 tokens at $1 (assuming small total supply) which would require $100 ether and if it ‘sells out’ then add more and so on. Right or Wrong?
That's the beginning value of your token and I think that logic is correct.
When you see a new token on Uniswap with a trading volume of $5 million, how are they doing that? Is there some scammy stuff going on?
Usually newly lists tokens are being mobbed by traders. Just like a newly lists token in a popular exchange, it gets attention. But in this case, it could also be the devs are making its volume high and they have allocated money on it.

So what would you do if you had 1 million token supply? How would you list it on Uniswap? Would you start with 100 tokens at $1 which would be $100 eth? Or would you do more or less? Thanks
You must see how much demand for your token. you can't determine how many tokens that must be put into the liquidity pool. You can start with various amounts. It's better to start from the small amounts. Basically, it doesn't matter a lot how many tokens will be locked on the liq pool. Try to talk with yourself. A few percents from the total supply is more than enough.

I don't know exactly how to start determining the unit value of the token, but as far as I understand it will basically depend on your project funding needs. The total supply can be determined according to the needs according to its function (more precisely scalability).

In the end, your token value will last and fluctuate as the project progresses. If you don't have a project underlying the token, the token will be useless and will have no value.

Liquidity must be 1: 1 ratio between token and ETH.
If you mean adding to the allocation of token sales on uniswap, yes it is possible. But to increase the total supply, no. The developer cannot arbitrarily add to the total supply if the token contract says the total supply is limited, it will forever be limited according to the initial issue amount.

But say I put 10,000 of my tokens at $100 ether value total. Couldn’t someone just buy them all up in one foul swoop?
What will be the reason that someone would swoosh and take all of your tokens. If there's some good features your token has, what you're thinking right now is likely to happen.
But if you just want to earn from your token and it has nothing to offer, don't expect a lot. Just saying friend.

Someone could buy your token as long as he was interested in your token and if no one interested to buy your token and there will be no someone that will buy your token. If you are only offering coin without actual product or benefit from your token and no one will never buy your token.

I don’t care about the money but at the same time if I put all my tokens on for say $500 ETH, someone could just buy them all...

Don't put all your tokens, use some fraction. If you create new pool you decide what initial price will be and how many tokens to put it.

What would you recommend? If you had 1 million total supply of tokens? How would you go about listing on Uniswap. Thanks!
Just use some percentages of your token. You must think about the supply that will be enough to be used to provide the liquidity pool on the uniswap.
Do you wanna put them all on uniswap? it sounds shady for me. Dude, you must not be greedy for money. Put what you have thought that's enough.

Any advice for someone wanting to list their new token on Uniswap? It just seems impossible as you need to deposit the same value in ETH, so if I wanted to list 10000 of my tokens at $1 each, I’d need to also deposit $10000 ETH.

Well thats how uniswap works. you provide. liquidity in a pair you wish to be traded. start with a smaller sum
