There was a lot of lack of development in LTC and it was something that drove a lot of people away from LTC, it is good that there is some kicking coming but why there is no detailed information regarding it, stating that LTC is planning to implement something is not enough, we need to know timeframe and more details. Also, I want to know how this will work! How they will manage to pair the confidential transaction and at the same time maintaining the transparency by making the record public!! Anyone care to explain?

This is amazing, However I believe things are not yet clear and it would be nice to see Charle Lee talk more about it.

A great step for litecoin, and if it really works it may also be implemented in bitcoin code later.

Maybe there are fans of LTC here, I'm not here to crap on people's portfolio choices, but the point of this post is to stimulate debate on what the point of LTC is.

For me, being the "Silver Bitcoin" isn't enough, and Charlie Lee thinks so too, as the LTC team are working to make LTC more relevant, including the adding of confidential transactions.

Is this a step in the right direction?

To me this is great news, many see this as a way to add privacy to our transactions and while that is fine the real issue is fungibility, if coins are not accepted based on their past then some coins are more valuable than others and as such the coin is not fungible and if that is not the case then we do not have a real currency, so I am pleased the founder of litecoin is pushing for this since it is an important development not only for litecoin but for the market in general.

That's great news, last year I'd heard that it was on their roadmap, but it's good to see that they're implementing it so soon.
Always been a big fan of Litecoin and I use it quite often instead of Bitcoin, just because transactions confirm faster and it's so similar to Bitcoin.

Yes, I also saw this news. Of course, this is a step in the right direction. I think many would like to keep a secret about their transactions.
