How bout a system where the person sends litecoins to the addr then you authorize it to go into bitcoins, You dont know if there was a glitch.

So i have this idea that i believe is a very good idea. I would like to create a very simple web page which will allow users to generate a forwarding address that will receive litecoins output bitcoins to a specified address but i lack the technical skills to create something like this myself. If there is anyone who is well trusted in this community who has the appropriate skill set, i might consider employing you. I know its a long shot but what the hell, it cant hurt to ask.

thanks to all who took the time to look at this =)

I am also looking for this, I am wondering whether it's possible to implement some sort of callback? Checking every 0.5 sec with json rpc wouldn't cut it.

I hadn't even thought about it in terms of money laundering. I was just thinking of the best way to allow people to use litecoins to make bitcoin purchases with as little hassle as possible.

Money laundering, entirely possible... however it is much simpler to use a mixer service... though a Litecoin->Bitcoin process would do a much better job of splitting transaction details since there wouldn't be ANY bitcoin trace (even if it went to a huge pool, there's still the trace to the pool).

Ive done a few small programs and websites. As far as doing the servers you really dont. You could in theory just do it like this

User comes you site
User requests his personal litecoin wallet to send ltc to*
User deposits litecoins
Server using API transfers litecoins from wallet to exchange
Server sells at market rate
server withdraw to users bitcoin address

*It would basically be a sign up page that would request your bitcoin address, how often to convert, and maybe prefered rate, like 2% below market or something. This way would require no accounts/logins really. You could ofcourse add such a feature but simply allowing you to change prefered rate and % above/below or fixed price. The bitcoin address would be your login and wouldnt be able to be changed

na the idea only works if they can come in, enter the amount of btc they would like to be received in the first field, the address they would like the btc to be sent to in the second field, They then click generate forwarding address and are prompted to the amount of ltc that needs to be sent to the forwarding address. Then from the time they send the litecoins it needs to send the btc as fast as possible. Anything less convenient and there is no point.

I could probally do it for you. It is really just simply generating a litecoin address, selling the litecoins on an exchange and withdraw to btc address

yea it would really need to be automated though. I cant be manually pushing every transaction through because i would need the process to be as fast as it is possible for it to be. So i would need a server running two hot wallets, plus what ever scripts were necessary to push the transactions through.

security would be the obvious concern.

i think its a bigger job than it first appears.

whats something you have built star?
