I would guess that LTC halving effects are already in the current price and I'm not expecting a big rise afterwards.

You are right LTC was $25 at bottom and now is almost 4 times higher. I would rather expect a dump after halving since people will be disappointed.
Difficult to really anticipate what will happen before and after this halving, you can place your position to whatever directions you think but there's no real assurance that it will bring you real benefits, LTC is one of those top Alts which you can take advantage of you pick the right position.

We can't just say that halving have a good impact to the market price or it can just be ignored.
Litecoin never have a good performance lately the same thing with the other coins, and I'm not expecting huge change during halving. But we couldn't say that it will losing its potentiality, still a good coin to be trusted by.

Well one thing that you guys are required to know is that

Most price actions are already taking the factor of upcoming news into the prices of a coin
If Halving is 10 days away, within this 10 days the price already included the factor in it

So it may/might not have a chance to pump

sure about that and this time litecoin is going down even more due to the bitcoin bearish trend. i guess it looks like the halving effect for litecoin already finished and i will not expect another halving effect that will bring bull trend for litecoin again. end bull trend for litecoin.

It seems that you have been unlucky because last time, investors have focused on buying and selling Bitcoin.
Halving events seem to have failed and this will be a shock for LTC miners.
I think it's time for you to sell LTC. It will no longer increase prices.
won't there be an increase again? Are there crypto assets like that on the market? especially with assets of litecoin. I think an upward movement will occur. now we do see a downward movement that happens slowly. that happens naturally. but will a halving event also be held next month?
I actually thought price growth after the event happened. we'll see later, we can't say it failed.

I think LTC has lost its momentum already and I am not sure if the team are still doing anything to keep the project alive like the other projects are doing, look at Ethereum now, the team of Ethereum is still doing everything possible to keep their project up and running, and they are still coming with an upgrade of 2.0 which will still help to better the system of Ethereum, and probably as agent to an increased value, but for Litecoin, the only thing that I have heard of their project of recent is halving.

Halving is not that enough to really help Litecoin gain the attention of new investors, no one want halving but what Litecoin is able to bring on table to guarantee that their investment with them will continue to yield an increase. If investors cannot get that trust, then there is nothing to that will make the price surge.

I think that below 0,015 BTC LTC is currently underpriced and above 0,025 its overpriced.

After the halving these two limits should move up a notch maybe by 0,05.

What do you people think?

Litecoin block reward halving is about 16 days from now
https://www.litecoinblockhalf.com
but, look like there is no significant movements on litecoin price,
i already bought some litecoin for short term and mid term investments because of this halving event,
i hope i will make a good return on it Wink

I believe litecoin's supply and demand effect will take place after the event of halvening was done,
I have this feeling that litecoin is currently being manipulated by whales to ensure an amount to be accumulated at this current price, and we should too.
Just bought some too as being ready for halving.

I don't think that will happen right when halving litecoin in August, the price increase can happen next year, I also hold the LTC for long-term investment also don't think for the short term and I won't sell it for $ 200, I will wait for the price higher than above $ 500
demand will increase now and maybe there will be growth even if it's not large. because everyone certainly thinks this is a good moment to make a profit. The LTC is one of the big coins, not from a newly developed project. investors must pay attention to this news.

I have a bag of LTC. I am thinking about selling BEFORE the halvening. My target is like $220.
I plan to dump to BTC. Because ultimately I want more bitcoin, and altcoins are just a way of getting there.

When would you sell LTC with regard to the August halvening?
What use price seems reasonable? I’m thinking $200 range if achieved.

Strange decision. Halving usually pushes the cryptocurrency to grow, as the commissions for the miners are cut. We can wait for the bull run, and for the Moonrise of Litecoin, and there is no one reason to sell this token now, moreover, it is in the top-5 for many years. We can wait that this token will reach 150 dollars this year. It seems to be a reality.

it took me like 5 minutes to find one actual argument about halving and  price!

According to litecoinblockhalf.com every day 14400 LTC are generated, with price of 92 USD, this is 1,324 million USD. I speculate that most of it is dumped on the market. After halving , it will be cut to half. So about 7200 LTC generated daily with price ~ 650k USD. This mathematically would mean that price should go up because less dumping will take place. BUT there is an option that market will be afraid and will not understand what halving is and dump .

Bitcoin has gone down since its breakout last few months and has dragged altcoins together with it. The results of Facebook libra hearing will tell the direction of altcoins in few days time. I think we can't see more than x2 on the litecoin halving evenet

I think this is the best time to sell. BTC prices have started to fall sharply and whales are tending to sell more BTC. Experts who are accepting the BTC valuation will plunge below $ 9k5 and the LTC will also begin to plunge further. LTC's price will definitely drop to about $ 75.
yesterday we should sell it. when the market is really still in good health. in conditions like this, I don't think it would be good to sell it, even though there is a possibility of falling again, but just prepare money to wait for the LTC to be cheaper because halving will make an increase, that's certain.

Right now, we have a chance to buy litecoin again because the price is not too high and it still not increase too high. Litecoin price becomes cheaper than before the down, so if we can buy as much as we can, I am sure we will make a big profit, especially we will see the halvening that will happen soon. So I think the litecoin price will increase higher at that time.

In fact, I am also surprised that people sell coins before halving, because if you look at the last halving Llitecoin, which occurred 4 years ago, you can understand that as a result of this event, the price of a coin has increased 2 times. Therefore, now many investors are trying to buy LTC before halving and to profit from the price increase, which is most likely to start growing after halving.

The litecoin halving is less than 30 days away yet its not drawing the euphoria and frenzy like it should. It rather dumped from 200usd to 110usd. Maybe the Bitcoin moon effect is having its toll on it just like every other altcoin. I really wonder if now its the best time to load up more Ltc
Yeah, i agree, most people want to sell before the halvening imho so they won't get to be bad holders.
But i do find it strange that op was talking about getting more btc with this and yet he was talking about the dollar price. But anyway... the dumpening seems to have started in both those pairs.

Litecoin has always been an overly speculative coin and its price has been manipulated almost constantly, but nevertheless its price rises in the long run. So now you can successfully enter Litecoin before the price rises, which can grow as a result of halving.

yes you are right but in this situation it seems like more attention will be created for the development in litecoin so that you can wait for some times to achieve some more profit in litecoin and get the decision to be changed but no one will predict the future if you want to do that then do it quickly.

I think holding is better than selling too fast, litecoin will grow and will be able to exceed the target you expect, by being patient then we will be able to get satisfactory results.
We have all seen the benefit of holding, if we flash back to people who were early holders of bitcoin and some of these coins, we could see the level of maturity they had in being patient and the belief they have. I don’t think any of us here that are new investors waited as much as those who were the first to hold BTC, look at the results they get years later.

Holding is really the main formula to having a very fertile investment on our cryptocurrency, provided the coin we are holding is really worthy , which we will know through our research and the community that holds the coin, a stringer community, a stronger coins which LTC has one of the strongest community backing them up.

The halving is coming, i bet the price will start pumping again. Litecoin has outperformed bitcoin and will continue to do so for the next couple of months. Hard to say what will happen afterwards
in what view has litecoin outperformed bitcoin? I don't think there are altcoins that can do that. Litecoin has risen very high but related to markets and communities I think bitcoin is still the highest with the most populous trade

I too have a stash of litecoin, mostly from mining, and am ultimately looking to convert most of it to bitcoin, as I think bitcoin is the long-term king of cryptocurrencies THAT serve as a store of monetary value (so no ETH in this case for me, although I do mine and have ETH).

Poster said he wants to convert LTC to BTC, and I have to suggest the better way to consider when to convert should be by looking at the LTC/BTC spot price, NOT the $USD value of litecoin!

In recent months one of the best times to sell LTC for BTC was the start of the recent bull run, when the altcoins pumped before BTC did. For example, on April 12, 2019, the LTC/BTC spot price hit a high of 0.01842. Now the spot right is only 0.013 or something. I am kicking myself for not converting some LTC for BTC at that time, because I wrongly thought LTC would get stronger.

Hopefully the LTC halving launches LTC/BTC to above 0.2. If that happens scoop up BTC with your LTC's.

I suppose before the growth of Litecoin due to the halving, we will see a strong drop in the token that can reach 40 percent. Only then will strong growth follow.

What makes you think so? Do you think that Litecoin can fall up to 60-70 dollars and less? I am waiting for the price growth after the halving of this cryptocurrency. The demand for the alt will go up then.

I am impressed with the plan to sell your LTC. But I will not rush to sell LTC at 220, there may be a normal cut in August. Even though this price is X2 compared to the current. The LTC seems to be a sleeping giant and isolated by the market for speculation. But at this month I believe bull back LTC will come back.
whether it will happen or not. but you should examine the plan of achievement that has been made by the team for the next development. if you don't get it, I think the growth that happened might just follow what happened on the market. and they will not do the pump again.

I guess LTC can increase more than $220 and I hope that it will happen later. But still, I only sell my LTC if the price can rise higher than now and perhaps, I will sell one by one of the LTC that I have. $200 of the price will be reasonable, and it could be more than that like I said before. We only need to buy more LTC if we are sure that LTC can reach that price before or after halving. I already get litecoin at the lower price, but I want to more LTC if somehow the price is down later so I can expect to make a big profit from LTC.

i think litecoin is not relevent anymore as an investment especially after the emergence of alternative to it such bitcoin cash and bitcoin cash satochi vision as a play ground for future bitcoin protocol improvement
I don't think so, Litecoin supporters are still there and if you are observing how the project performed this year, it gives a high appraisal and profits to those who bought and hold it after being dumped down to its bottom, known alts will still move forward as bitcoin still getting more investors both new and old ones which can also be reflected to LTC value. LTC halving will lift the value of this coin to pumped up, OP's target is really achievable just hold and wait.
I have been observing this coin for months and I was not surprised that it slowly (I mean not as dramatic as BTC) when the current bullish movement started. I think this has the potential for more upward growth especially near and after the halving. As I already included Litecoin in my small crypto portfolio, I am also looking for regular updates and developments of this cryptocurrency...
This is true, Litecoin has a potential for growth and its price will rise, especially immediately before the reduction of payments to miners by half. I also included it in my investment portfolio and expect a profit of no less than similar projects can bring.

According to the planned halving, the event is expected this August. It is possible that it is the decline in the miner’s reward for Litecoin mining can become the main fundamental reason for the optimism of investors. Indeed, after halving, LTC inflation will drop significantly, and the asset will by шт the better demand. A decrease in supply with an unchanged or increasing demand usually means that the price can go up.

Well, I am not an holdler of LTC so it would not really be a bad idea to me if you sell your LTC to bitcoin because whatever action you take as regards bitcoin investment will definitely ay you more than any action you take in LTC.

Litecoin price not only depends on the halvening but also depends on the state of the bitcoin market, if the bitcoin can exceed the price of 11k and the possibility of up to 20k will be easier and litecoin may exceed $ 250 ..
I totally agree with your opinion, aside halving of litecoin coming soon, the coin will still get its value from bitcoin pump since it still belongs to the group of coins at the top 20 market, so the potential to reach higher value is there, so I don’t know what is making people think litecoin won’t increase when it has not turned to a shitcoin yet, although their performance has been a bit low lately after the bitcoin big dump from the last ATH, but there is always room for improvement and I am sure they are also not folding their arms, but will surely be trying their best too to keep up to expectation.

Of course it will help the price. It already did and it will.

But still, there is a lot of time for it to happen and speculators will affect the price a lot. So if you are not a holder don't be greedy and set a target.

You are correct.  The price will probably pump just before the halving based on FOMO, then dump right after -- HOWEVER -- with the supply cut, it's only a matter of time before the price skyrockets again to reflect the new reality of less supply.  So I think HODLING for 7 - 8 months after the LTC Halving is the smart play then converting to BTC once the LTC/BTC ratio has improved.

I am usually quite confused about this halving sometimes, despite the little knowledge I have about its reward, some people believed this is the time price of such coin goes up, but from your point, seems you believe the price will go down, if not, why would you be selling before halving when you are supposed continue holding till after halving when the price will skyrocket.

Well, I am not an holdler of LTC so it would not really be a bad idea to me if you sell your LTC to bitcoin because whatever action you take as regards bitcoin investment will definitely ay you more than any action you take in LTC.

BTC $1 mln.
i think litecoin is not relevent anymore as an investment especially after the emergence of alternative to it such bitcoin cash and bitcoin cash satochi vision as a play ground for future bitcoin protocol improvement

Selling LTC before halving happened really was a good strategy. Because after halving happens, investors will no longer be eager to hold more LTCs, they will sell and find a better altcoins to buy and make more money.
Please sell it at 170 - 180 $. that is a safe margin.

Litecoin is going to the moon.  The same deflation principles baked into BTC are baked into LTC.  LTC is one deflation cycle behind BTC (one Halving behind BTC).  So it’s VERY likely the LTC ratio (to BTC) will increase once LTC Halving occurs.  Both LTC and BTC will be at the same rate of deflation for 1 year meaning LTC ratio to BTC will likely go way up.

That will give a one year window to convert to BTC for the BTC Halving in 2020.
It is definitely a very good thought. surely LTC will get a strong pump in the days near the halving event and I think this is an opportunity for us to buy as much LTC as possible, especially for bitcoin lovers.
The growth of LTC will certainly be higher than that of BTC and then, the whole market will be directed to LTC and its price will certainly be better than BTC. Buy lots of LTC, you can exchange for more BTC when its percentage of growth is higher than BTC.

Are you crazy would you want bitcoin dumo again, I think is too much impossible bitcoin is now very strong and stable.

For the litecoin its possible to reach the number of amount you want to reach as your margin selling but if want bitcoin die your expectation for litecoin is useless if bitcoin dump possible the whole market goes again into worse.

$200 is very possible for litecoin in this halving even, because the green market look stable right now
so, if the market continues rising, for sure litecoin halving even will bring more demands to litecoin and the demands will push the price up  Wink
yes I agree with you if the full bull run will continue most likely the price of litcoin will up like you said we are currently only speculating so we look ahead, hopefully our hopes can be achieved regarding the price of litcoin

Litecoin price not only depends on the halvening but also depends on the state of the bitcoin market, if the bitcoin can exceed the price of 11k and the possibility of up to 20k will be easier and litecoin may exceed $ 250 ..
It is but it has pumped on its own for the past 2 quarters. By January 1, 2019 price was $30 and it was the probable bottom for it. And today, it has rose by almost 400% since the beginning of this year.

Litecoin's halving has its impact already and the price of bitcoin to $11k will also bring significant positive impact for it. But your assumption is too low for bitcoin to reach $20k, Litecoin's price will just only be $250? I don't think that it will that kind of low.

Your price target of LTC IMO might not reach before the halving in August, but if there's something would happen during that month then i would say it's beyond miracle to explain since everything in cryptocurrency is unexpected. And yes your target to buy more Bitcoin is great but LTC is a great altcoin too, don't just settle for a single coin, invest in everything that you think will give you a profit in the future.

whether it can happen or not. we know that not all bitcoin growth in the market is making altcoin grow. sometimes there is a negative effect of the growth of bitcoin which causes the altcoin price to go down. not pessimistic, but I also hope there will be a high market increase.

If you have a target price of $220 USD then it is well and good and it is a possibility that we will see those valuation next year, right now the price is trading above $115 which is a good price considering that it was below $50 a few months back, the problem is that since you are planning to dump litecoin to enter bitcoin and considering the target you have which is $220, i wonder what will be the price of bitcoin at that time, hands down double the price from now  Grin.

your mind makes sense waiting for the litcoin at the new $ 200 price to sell and replace with bitcoin or altcoin but I personally wait for the price of litcoin to go up to $ 200, needing an old process maybe when bitcoin up  like year 2017

To achieve $200 per LTC is pretty much possible IMO and your target is not unrealistic
Current price is $115 and with the price push of both BTC($) and LTC(BTC) it can be reached in a short time if anything unexpected doesn't occur otherwise.

Right now, I really confident we can break 130-150$ that's my target for right now. Litecoin can reach more than that if always on a good trend, just wait next waiting a candle from Bitcoin chat. Bitcoin can break another resistance next weeks around 8300-8500$ after that altcoin will follow bitcoin movement.
^ I will support this prediction because we're just the same on the pathway in mind or in the range from $150 to $200 price in the market. Ever since Litecoin was always swinging by the price of Bitcoin when it is having price movement and it is always on the top 10 altcoins rank in CoinsMarketCap. We are exciting for the next halving of Litecoin we don't know yet either it will grow ap or just maintaining the level of what is the price now.

Does it really matter? LTC will still be worthless. Will it ever find acceptance with corporates? regular public? Even the latest releases of LTC Core 0.17.1 doesnt boast of any noticeable features. So how can you guys expect it to bump?
Everything depends on investor’s choice and you may never be able to really predict what will interest or attracts investors. What really makes most of these coins pump is not all these penny we are throwing into the market, big time investors are the ones throwing millions of dollars into the project, and if they could get few of these types of investors that will pick interest, then they are good to go, but then, they have to continue creating strong awareness and bring in up attractive products like the their new release, which I believe is capable of helping their value grow.

Litecoin has network affect. Each boom and bust cycle is like game of thrones. Some coins lay bloodied and beaten to a pulp, while others remain on top. Litecoin may fall away like the hundreds of other coins that were in the top...but for now it looks like Litecoin has won this battle, and is enjoying the spoils.

For now it gets to have value. But it’s possible sometime in the future it falls into obscurity. I just think the longer it stays on top, the more it ads to its mystique and power, and it only strengthens its longevity.

It's your opinion and I do respect that and I recall those days where namecoin is also at the top. But we're living on the current times today, I'm sad to see that namecoin's volume got low.

By looking at the charts of namecoin, I think that if some news comes out of it then it will create a positive impact to its price and volume.

As the litecoin halving will happen before the bitcoin halving it is useful to see what happens with litecoin. It is widely known as the test bed for bitcoin anyway, if litecoin pumps like mad then we know what will happen next year with bitcoin halves
I'm waiting for the impact that it will bring first to its economy and next to bitcoins.

The price of LTC will increase more than the price you set. When the IEO and ICO markets are doing well again, many investment sources are introduced into the crypto market. LTC's price will easily rise higher than the imagination of investors.
I think the price of LTC will soon rise to $ 250 or $ 260 in Q3 and will stay above $ 200 in Q4.

Litecoin has reached 5th position according to the market cap from the position of 10th since 2017. Now this coin is an emerging investment asset like the Bitcoin. While the Bitcoin supply less but the Litecoin supply is more than Bitcoin. Maybe this year Litecoin again reach above $300 and if touched then it must achieve the price level of $3000 by the end of the year 2019.

$ 220 is a feasible number when the uptrend is coming and the price of LTC can increase to $ 250. but all is speculation about a bull run. You need to consider when investing in LTC and offering reasonable profit-taking. Don't be too greedy and I think you should put it at $ 160. Sell risk at the lowest level, don't pay for your greed. That is the best quote I've ever read. Because opportunity is so much, the most important thing is your psychological control.

I don't think LTC prices can grow faster and higher at $ 220. Bitcoin Halving event in 2016 only made its price slightly increase and in 2017 it officially increased.
I think LTC will only get $ 160 - $ 175 as the highest price and you should adjust your portfolio. Wink

this time the litecoin development is unexpectedly developing so the chances of double the value in the end of this year is available for the currency to get more profitable investors I think the people who invested in the previous year had the huge opportunity to double their investment and their profit.

My target will be at $250, and I already save more litecoin since the last time the price down before. I hope that this bull run will lift the price to increase to the higher price and hopefully, it could reach $300 and will pass ethereum. The different of the price between litecoin and ethereum was about $100, and when the bull run comes, I think the price will start to rally.

$220 is a low price point, usually the pump happens 1 year after the halving event so it's worth hodling at least until the end of the year. It kind of depends on how bitcoin moves. So far LTC has out performed BTC so I'd go lite for a while

I think we will see higher price increase than $200 after blockhalving around 400 might be possible to reach or even $1k just like what happen on bitcoin when the price is around $200 and reach $1k after block halving.

So keep holding until next year because there is possibility that it will burst increase just like what happen in bitcoin remember?
