I wasn't being serious.
But I think it would be a huge laugh if one of the new coins just got no interest at all.

I realize you were joking, but something should be done. I mean we're supposed to be a community not like that bunch from the BTC-e trollbox.

I'd bet its a ruse to rile people to mine the next "bar" that was conveniently publicized yesterday by the "crypto marketing team" as "coming soon/in the works."
Is there such a thing as a cryptominer's strike.
We should unionise and only mine at union shops!!!
I'd like to see a new coin with no hashing.
Imagine, a brave new world of forum whining would come up.

There should be some consensus as to which coin actually is promising, and could be worth something, Such as MC2/Netcoin, correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like most people agree it holds promise to be something great.

it could be possible but would require closed source, distributed license keys for the miners, approved pools to mine from.  everything that cryptocurrency is not and everything the current financial system is.

I have doubts about the yacoin developer being the scammer. It's more likely one of the good hearted people who delivered a compiled miner to "help" people mine.

I doubt it.  but the yacoin panic is interesting to watch.

I think this is playing out nicely.  It is creating a sense of mistrust in new coins.  It will require developer of new coins to build a better trust foundation in their coins even if the want ot get rich quick on them.

Just noticed ltc network hash rate is holding at 18 GHash, even after the ridiculous diff jump. Last jump they all fled to whatever coin they could profit from, could this signal the end of scamcoins?
