Well, my opinion is that the price will go up but you have to think of this as of long term investment.

LTC is collecting the gains of working hard to bring innovation (yes, I'm talking about Segregated Witness Grin) and being willing to do tests with it. Tests that can help BTC in the near future, after the SW xBU war. This is bringing media attention to it and maintaining the price to go up. Coinbase jumping on that trains is more media, as will be open bazaar adoption of LTC.

Price is up a lot right now with the recent hype but its probably still a decent long-term investment.
Maybe wait a few days/ week and see if the price comes back down and pick up some coins? Definitely worth owning some.
Possibility of a return to the ATH days of $40 to $50 in the next few years if interest stays high.

What's your view on Monero vs Litecoin? Maybe they don't compete for the same market share, but they're in the same price range, which leads to a comparison. Litecoin is obviously more well-known, but I feel Monero is further ahead in its niche, namely being a private coin. Is it realistic to assume LTC will always live in BTC's shadow, while this isn't so much of a problem with Monero?

Is it still worth investing in at this point? I mean, I can imagine the price rising quite a bit in the next few weeks, but how much do you guys think it will rise in the long term compared to Bitcoin, and do you think it will be more stable than Bitcoin?

Wondering if anyone who bought with 40-50$ some years ago, still hold them (they should be very happy now)

Wouldn't surprise me if we see the price double again in the next coupkle of weeks or months.
I'm guessing there will be other exchanges that will be following suit soon, LTC has had some really positive developments in the past couple of weeks.

Probably. Litecoin had the potential and now it's paying off. Coinbase always supported litecoin directly and indirectly, so it was just an excuse for the pump. Seeing the market, more people are pouring in into litecoin and price will go up for sure.
No doubt and i can say this year would be good on LTC and developments and progression is on the move after how many years of silence and now it start to move right now.Talking again with coinbase they do already support ltc but they only just add it now to the exchange.I think price increase would just end here for sure theres still a new ATH so better to hold off a little bit more on your LTC.

the coinbase news was just an excuse to go up, otherwise Coinbase has added litecoin to their platforms a long time ago, it was active on coinbase and it was tradeable on GDAX.
and all this time traders were accumulating cheap LTC from weak hands.

On Wednesday, May 3, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges, Coinbase, announced that it was adding support for Litecoin.  The Litecoin price reacted immediately with a sharp rise in price from $16 to $21 to surpass a market cap of $1 billion.
