don't wast time with asic, point one gpu to etheruem and you cna do 400k-500k satoshi each day, if you have cheap energy everything from that 500k satoshi is almost your

That seems a little high ...

Just checked with my current pool and

Current Speed   410 kH/s

Past 24 hours Rewards   0.004108396600 LTC

If the converter is correct, that's 0.00004000 BTC

How can Etheruem bump be up 100x what I'm making now?

Just want to be informed before I set it up Smiley

because asic have no reason anymore it's just a spam of farm with the best cheap electricity, i checked again and a single gpu can do 400k(450k as peak) satoshi still on etheruem, but i believe it will be lower in 1 month

actually at the beginning it was a crazy 0.01 per gpu, but as you see we lost more than 50% already

Generating about 0.01 LTC every 2-3 days is very very low. and for the bitcoin mining, its quite expensive.
Agree, you are probably loosing more money than you generate.
Mining since years is professional business, only available to amateurs through hobby.

Answered my own question there ...

Going to see if I can find any used S3s on the cheap to get started. This is a hobby like I mentioned so I don't have much capital to spend atm ... if the ROI is good I may consider getting some higher end gear and hooking them up to the solar panels.

If its just to get a feel for it/hobby use then the s3 should let you do it but dont expect to make any money whatsoever from mining with an s3. Nowadays the s3 is very outdated and slow.

Thanks Smiley

mining bitcoin with your hash rate is worthless and you will spend more than you earn

Yeah, I kinda figured. We don't pay for electricity here so it wasn't a cost thing.

To answer other questions, we are using CPUMiner and Cudaminer.

I'm more interested in the idea of things than actually making money, but I was hoping I could at least see a little more progress than I am.

*** edit - the word I was looking for was Community. I want to contribute. Heard too many horror stories about the bad people running scams with Cloud mining.  ******

From the looks of it your using one of those usb scrypt miners and those could only be used for scrypt algorithm types of coins but bitcoin uses sha256 and it's completely different thing. Hash power wise you have a out dated miner that wouldn't earn much on litecoin and your best choice would be to mine other scypt types of coins instead.

Litecoin uses a different algorithm than Bitcoin. Mining Bitcoin is pretty much unprofitable unless you have a couple TH/s. 360 kH/s is not going be enough to make any significant amount mining Bitcoin.

Hey guys,

So, I started mining litecoins since there was a group that paid out pretty frequently, and I'm able to generate about 0.01 LTC every 2-3 days (not looking for a big profit, just having fun with it.)

I checked today for the exchange rates and the exchange to BTC is 0.00827

So I guess my question is, is there a Bitcoin mining pool out there that I can join in that will actually let me make some progress there?

I'm doing about 360 kH/s on litecoin mining.
