If you wipe everything and reinstall with a new wallet does it run?
Did you also tried to install it somewhere else than on this usb stick?

seems like the same problem as here, only in this topic it is with bitcoin: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/exception-11dbexception-dbopen-invalid-argument-bitcoin-in-run-89639

I don't think your litecoins are lost, I just would try it on a different disc, other os, ...

"A fatal error occured. Litecoin can no longer continue safely and will quit.

EXCEPTION: 11DbException
Db::open: Invalid argument
litecoin in Runaway exception       "

This is the error I got after trying to boot Litecoin from USB after it was un-safely removed.
Running OSX 10.8.2

I dont know if the wallet is still in tact but havent been able to run litecoin since this happened, even after a reinstall with a local wallet.

Like a chump I had sent 110ltc to an address on this wallet before all this crap happened.

Does anyone have any bright ideas on how I can check this wallet to see if it in tact (indeed is this the only part that woudl need to be intact to get my 110ltc back?)

many thanks in advance and if you can help fix this, I'll send a handful of ltc your way.

Cheers
