If you're purely using the forum for informational purposes, moving up in rank isn't going to relevant to your needs. It's pretty much for status if you feel like you want to have a more serious role in this forum.

Hope this helps!

As a newbie here in the forum. I read so many threads how and what can we get from this forum. They said that , through this forum we can learn about crypto currency, altcoins, digital money and many more. As the time goes by, i realized that they are right. I've learn a lot from this by reading and commenting all post written here and as part of bitcointalk forum. You should also give help with others by sharing your thoughts and knowledge regarding crypto community.

Please, tell us. What do you really wanna learn?

what's your native language?

I am from Sri Lanka, a small country in Asia where we are located under the giant India like a little pearl and we speak a language called Sinhala. (Only Sri Lankans use Sinhala and it has been considered as one of the most beautiful languages to hear according to https://www.thetoptens.com/best-sounding-languages/ !  ) (I have used this opportunity to boast a bit about my language  Wink  Wink)

The reason why member of this forum wants to ranked up because the higher the rank the higher the rewards for signature campaign. And  some bounty are not allowing lower ranks to partiticipate in campaign.

The only purpose of ranking up is to increase the amount  of reward  that were given to  participants in every campaign, literally speaking if you have  high rank account you will get bigger rewards compared to low ranks.

Our status indicate that we are new on the group, one significant is old members can give us advices that they knew we need it because were newbie, you don't want to give advices to someone you might wouldn't know they are more expert on you.. .

While our rank is getting high, some sort of prevelage is also is given to us, one is the length of the signature, two is that when you reach high rank, that I know also it will take sometimes due to restriction of merit, you can put picture on your profile...and many more

It just depends on why are you here. If you're here with the goal of earning some money (as many newbies) ranking up will allows you to earn more if you joint a signature campaign. Nevertheless, it is going to be hard, for many new users' goal is the same and this is a really competitive place. So the most probable situation is for you to get desperate for merits and so.
If you're here because this is a place with the free knowledge and with people willing to share it by free, then ranking up is not really important. For you will be able to learn a lot, no matter your rank.
Ranking up, of course, can be seen as a reward for creating good topics and useful content. But it takes a while to understand the system, so just do not be obsessed with it, just chill and learn.

I think the big reason why people want rank up their rank is because they want bigger reward in signature Campaign. Same like me. Grin

The bigger your ranking, the greater your reward.

Well through going up in rank you peobably get more trust as it shows that you will have a longer experience here (does of course not count for everyone...). But I think the most important thing is the possibility for better signature bounty payments. That is what most people are interested in these days.

Most signature bounties for new blockchain projects are build on a stake system, which is splitted through the different ranks. Some are also not allowing lower ranks to join these bounties. With higher ranks you get often higher percentages of the bounty pool, that is why people want higher ranks.

Mostly just posting and messaging privleges, and reputation building. This forum is kind of a rite of passage. If you ever intend on being taken seriously in this space, you need experience here.
